What is it about "Drumline" that i never get tired of watching it?

When I was in drumline for my high school around 03, we always used to watch this on trips. I guess if you have some drumming background it's pretty entertaining... although the drumming is fake (you know Nick Cannon wasn't about to bust out those  rudiments

)

Also, the story is corny and played out... young, naturally talented kid has a dream, does things his own way and rises to the top, oh and he gets the fine girl. Never seen that before!!
