    Ive noticed there are a lot of cats in general who aren't into sneakers as much as they used to be and some even not at all.

    Im still very much interested but its way different now. I don't go looking for a specific shoe hardly, if i get a sneaker its because i was out and i saw something i liked....i don't go out specifically to get something anymore...no day one cops...no lines...none of that. The recent AM1 retro for example...3 or 4 years ago i woulda got those day one....now its like eh...ill get em whenever...if i don't oh well.

    I still love sneakers the same as ever.....still wear a wide variety......i look at all the sneaker sites, keep up with tech, releases, etc.

    but in terms of buying...waiting....etc .....theres just other things that take priority.

    i wouldn't say I'm "done" though.

    I gave up on it when I started my corporate career.

    Now I dress like Brokeback Mountain x goth ninja x boots outside of work.

    When I had to wear dress shoes Monday through Friday.

    I still know what's coming out and watch catches my attention. But I don't really know how the new raffles or online orders work. When I would go out and buy it would be first come first serve

    All of that at, opee.

    +

    Changing mindset on excess and knowing enough is enough. Personally, I'm at a point where I'll have a small rotation and just occasionally mix something else in. I don't wear the kicks I have already, so continuing to buy more to repeat the same cycle is a waste.

    Furthermore, I do feel some type of way wearing a fussy design and loudly colored shoe, of which I have many. So you can add changing style to the list of reasons.

    Just this week I got hype when I found a pair of blue leather Jack Purcells for $30. Those go much better with my current style than a pair of LeBron X elites or LeBron 12s that currently reside in the depths of my closet.

    This year, soon, I plan on donating a grip of sneakers. I'm too lazy to list most for sale and they're not really worth much as it seems anyway.

    I stopped when I went to college and didn't have a source of income anymore. Now that I'm working though my interest has rekindled but I'm mostly just buying retros of stuff that I had in the past.

    Got the Cement IV's, the Space Jams, and the Metallic V's. Tried to get the Atmos online but no luck.

    Pretty crazy to think that I joined NT/ISS when I was 13 and I'm 25 now...

    I still cop kicks but I don't eem get a chance to wear them 😂😂😂. Never thought I'd be here. I still love kicks and will still buy but I'm not gonna go super hard. Anything "limited" is SNKRS or a dub for me. Went "hunting" for black and red ones drop last year for the first time in 3-4 years and quickly realized why I don't do that **** no mo. I more into getting nice sneaker for cheap now; like 35 - 50. It's like a sport to me now.

    P.S. I did just cop some PSNY 12s tho 😔 I couldn't resist they're too buttery.

    Still into SBs and certain Jordans. Just have more important things to pay for so they are low-priority.

    i thought i would never change, but a few things made me change overall...

    1. cost of shoes today = back when i was younger, i always told myself i couldnt be paying 200 dollars for nikes..i would do it from time to time...but now, every sneaker is 200 dollars now...

    2. realizing that shoes dont last for ever... i have tons of shoes that are in my closet from 02-06 that if i wear today, they will fall apart, and they still look deadstock

    3. my style changed... i cant step out in nikes when im on my grown tip...sneakers are more for work out gear or lounging imo.

    4. change in responsibilities...you value your dollar more, even if you make more, and realize that you can put that 200 into other things that can help you later on in life

    For me it was that my responsibilities changed a bit, but the hype around sneakers definitely played a part in it also. Once those 11's started coming out around Christmas time and people were beating up parents for them, I gave up. If I want a shoe that bad now I'll just wait to cop them online if I can find them reasonably priced.

    :{ Penny Foams, XIIIs, Playoff XIIs, Eggplant Flightposites... all retired due to sole separation. Paid retail only for the Eggplants. The others were at least $3-400 each during my "cop the OG colorway when a retro drops to stunt" phase in HS/college.

    December 23rd, 2011.

    I coveted the Condord XI since I had an og pair in the 3rd grade. Moms couldn't afford the 2000 or 2001 retro. It was only right that I tried to get the 2011 retro since I had my own money to buy them.

    I get to the local Hibbet sport at midnight. There are 8 people in front of me. No big deal. I'm definitely in a good spot to get a pair. We went down the line and everyone says what size they wear...

    Everyone except the first person in line. He had headphones on and didn't speak to anyone. He was kicking it on a lawn chair so we mainly said "f him" and spoke about the different pairs we liked, how long we'd been fans of kicks, etc.

    The line starts to get longer and longer. Surely enough the clock strikes 8 and it's opening time. The store employees made their way in. Unbeknownst to us, they got priority over the rest of us. There were 4 of them. One by one I see them each grab two pairs and check out. It's whatever, we thought, surely with such a high profile release, there were a lot more to go around.

    And then the moment came that changed the way I look at shoes forever. They're only letting people in one at a time. Ol lawn chair buddy goes in, as is the custom for people who are first in line. One of the employees goes to the back and returns with a full case of kicks. The box is still taped up.

    "Smart move, get us in and get us out instead of having to keep going to the back for pairs. Should be out of here in no time."

    I was wrong. More wrong than I could ever imagine.

    THIS ************ BOUGHT AN ENTIRE CASE TO FLIP.

    The store employees see the outrage going on outside so they end up having to call the cops to escort this **** boy to his car. The second guy goes in, buys two pairs, and the employees come back to tell us all the men's sizes are gone. :{

    Spent the next hour rushing all over the city to try to find a store that would have a pair left. No luck. All gone. Ended up having to pay $320 resale for my Concords a few days later. :{

    Ever since then, I just look at the shoe game differently. That resale **** is for the birds. These days I stick to Nike running shoes that I can cop off of amazon. Never again will I wait in line on shoes. If I absolutely have to have em, I'll try to get a plug to secure a pair. If that doesn't work, it wasn't meant for me to have em.
