I know it's still way too early to tell for sure, but what are your predictions for who's going to win this award?

in no certain order, i'd say monta ellis (again), michael beasley, OR maybe even Kevin Durant (if he keeps putting up all these 30pt + games every night).

What are your thoughts?

Gerald Wallace- 18pts 12rebs 2stls
Aaron Brooks - 17pts 2rebs 5ast
Carl Landry - 16pts 6rebs 26mpg

It will be funny to see if all those guys I was arguing with a month ago, when this topic was originally brought up, will STILL be saying Ryan Anderson by far.

I still think I am gonna go with Danilo though.

yeah, landry has 13 20 point games this season...

he should get 6th man of the year also

EDIT: Honestly i dont think MIP should go to Second year players...danillio for example...he doubled his minutes

Kevin Love - 25 minutes to 31 minutes, +3.5 points, +3.8 rebounds, +1.4 assists, +2 FG%, +2 FT%

Monta Ellis - 36 to 41, +6.2 points, +1.5 assists, +1.4 FG%

Aaron Brooks - 25 to 34, +6.1 points, +2.2 assists

Jason Thompson - 28 to 35, +4.2 points, +1.7 rebounds, +5 FT%

Joakim Noah - 24 to 34, +3.8 points, +4.8 rebounds, +1.1 assists

I don't think you can say no second year player can win it, but it should definitely be based on the increase of minutes.

Ariza went from 24 minutes to 39 minutes. Gallinari, from about 15 to 30. That seems like too much of a jump to be considered.

But in the same sense, some of these dudes with big jumps in minutes are getting more PT because they.... improved. Right...?

Their improved skills scored them a higher position on the depth chart.

Granted, Ariza and Landry might be making the most out of team injuries, but the jump in minutes has to be linked to improvement somehow.

You aren't just given more minutes if you still suck.

Ariza went from playing on the best team in basketball to what a lot of us assumed might be the worst team in basketball this season.

He went from a fifth or sixth option to a first or second option. Not because Trevor Ariza is really good, but because the Rockets just had nobody else better.
