Who Would You Sign Next Summer: Ben Gordon Or Allen Iverson?

I'll go with neither but if I had to choose it would be Iverson. Ben is a even bigger ball hog, worse shot selection, and is less consistant. With Iversonregardless of his poor shot selection he is at least consistant with his scoring with Ben you just kinda gotta hope he gets hot cause dude is gonna be chuckingthem even if he ice cold.

I think there is a slight chance Iverson will go overseas. At this point in his career, a lot of people see him as a liability in the NBA. Therefor, no one isgoing to offer a "pleasing" contract to him, except some clubs in Europe. As for who would I sign as a GM, Ben Gordon hands down; I've always hadrespect for Uconn kids and he's proven to be clutch.

With those stories about Iverson and casinos, this doesn't surprise me at all

ben gordon - he's on his way up, and he played on a team where he wasn't the only explosive scorer (anybody remember luol deng - not to mention johnsalmons played respectably well). iverson is a certified baller, but he's on his way down - let's not even talk about hisattitude..."practice? practice? we talkin about practice man. practice?

of course. isnt that how it works in teh sports world. if you were a GM would you sign a player who was sucking at the time u sign him? i dont get what u aretryign to say pal

99% of GMs would take Gordon over AI, remember AI is old enough to be Ben Gordons dad.

There's only a 7 year age difference

I would much rather go after Ben Gordon mainly because of his age and lack of complaining especially in my team (Grizzlies) situation.

I just hope he comes back in great shape and goes to a team with a chance to win

Essentially the same player to me... But in the right situation, and given you make it clear to him what his role isBEFORE he signs, I'd rather have Iverson...

I like Ben Gordon, but not for the financial commitment at the number of years he's gonna be looking for... Iverson is going to cost significantly less, and I think if he buys in he'll give you the same production...

Ben Gordon. Better defender, younger, and far more effective off the bench.

Well, A.I. On the Spurs wouldn't work, because Pop only dealw with players, who aren't stuck on themselves. I'm not saying A.I. Is, but his burningconfidence will probably be too much for the Spurs. Damn, he'd look serious in the blk/silver though.

BG on the Hornets would be a good look. They need a guy, who can score, without CP3 spoon feeding him.

In a nutshell, give me BG. He's younger.

AI.

Yes, he may be a cancer, but who's to say that BG doesn't rub people the wrong way in his own sense. He's pissed off coaches before with his shootfirst mentality.

All BG can do is shoot. He'd have to go to a good defense team that needs a scoring punch, desperately, so I could see the Sixers, but that means Iggy orThad hits the bench.

Exactly. I don't think I would pay big money for either one. If I had to choose, it would be Gordon because he fits in more easily because he is such agood shooter, is younger, and doesn't have as big of an ego as AI.

The better question is for which teams does it make sense to sign either of them. For Iverson...Cuban seems to take anybody. He also might be good temporarilyfor the Rockets assuming T-Mac is out of there. I like both Artest and Battier in the starting lineup anyway. The Rockets PG rotation isn't cutting it too.As for Ben Gordon, maybe Utah, New Orleans, or Indiana? I've seen Sacramento's name tossed around both of these discussions but they need to stay awayfrom Ben Gordon unless Kevin Martin can play the 3 and nobody has told me. At this point, though, anybody, including Iverson is a better fit than Beno Udrih. We're building for the future though so it would have to be a temporary fix until we can find a viable PG for the future. Ideally though, I'd just hopefor Rubio or Griffin and wait until 2010 to do FA shopping.
