seriously, what do you think caused this country to ballon in over weight statistics?

is it the HFCS? Trans Fats? Over eating/lack of moderation? Physical activity?

most importantly though, will these stats get worse or better over time? say within the next 30 years?[IMG]

It's fat because people don't get out and excercise. Instead of cooking their own meals, people settle for eating at fast food restaurants.

We don't have two-story McDonald's for nothing [IMG]

it's the combo of horrible unhealthy food and lack of exercise. If people just ate bad but exercised, or ate healthy but didn't exercise, therewouldn't be as much obesity as there is.....

too much technology making everybody lazy. they even have robotic exercise now where you can exercise without doing anything, the machine does it for you.

Yeah, the whole SWOLE MEAT had to be a set up....it was too easy. But Americans are typically greedy, lazy, and we eat a lot of unhealthy foods. Minimalexercise with a lot of unhealthiness in the foods.

damn yall need to quit jockin my SN, get over it. but real talk though im asking for other peoples views not what some scientist will say.

But even with 'efforts' to cut back i wonder if rates will even fall at all if any

also i think this FDA group is a bunch of crap. there are so many loopholes for nutritional labels or whats actually in products its a crime

Portion control. Nothing more nothing less IMO. Anyone can eat fatty foods, but everyone can't consistently eat them and stay small. Balance and exerciseare the key IMO.

Pretty much it. In addition to the fast food, Americans have 3 course meals on a regular basis. I don't know about anyone else, but whenI'm invited to these 3 course meal dinners, I'm done after the appetizer. And getting back on fast food, there used to be a simple hamburger andcheese burger. Now with each fast food place upping the ante on the rest, there's triple decker, bacon angus blahblah etc. I read on a recent articlethat the bacon cheeseburger from Chili's has over 1000 cals of fat. That's more than 50% of the daily intake for an average American.

Back before the gaming and internet era, kids actually used to go play outside. Now everyone is inside playing Halo or I guess Street Fighter 4 now.

Technology and lack of exercise are two big reasons...

technology only takes a small percentage of the blame.

its probably 80-90% due to the diet and exercise routines of Americans. ALL meat, no exercise = big Americans.

Wow....my boy is in the other room playin' Street Fighter 4 right now....anyway I agree tho. There's too much stuff that people can dowithout havin' to move around that much, like video games and whatever. I be lookin' at myself today, like, "Damn, I'm not as slim as I usedto be....the hell is goin' on?" I'm nowhere near fat tho, but I'm still used to lookin' in the mirror and seein' a skinny littlekid....now I'm a little heavier than average weight 21 year old [5'10, 180 lbs.] I need to hit the gym come to think about it.

It's due to unhealthy eating particularly fast food. I used to be huge, weighing 232. I slimmed down to 184 in half a year. I dont even touch fast food orsoda anymore.
