Why is it? Vol. Hurricane Katrina vs. Japanese Tsunami

the disaster itself from hurricane katrina and the earthquake/tsunami in japan are comparable in some ways....
but the portrayal of how people acted during hurricane katrina is definitely comparable to the incident of LA Riots (rodney king case).
During hurricane katrina and the LA riots, people used the negative situation to commit selfish and violent crimes. In both incidents, people looted, raped, attacked innocent civilians, and destroyed public property....simply animals. Is it a coincidence that both incidents had majority of the people committing these crimes being African Americans?
There were no depictions of any of these crimes in ANY videos of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan, probably because (A) it was a disaster on a much larger scale (b) there were few to none crimes being committed (c) maybe media do not want to portray the Japanese people as being violent or have criminal behaviors due to some reason (d) it is just not the time to focus on those acts....

 Let's just turn a blind eye on the blatant @!#+!#! that went down...and justify media coverage of "looters". 

*+%% that.  You need to see both sides of the coin and why people react to Katrina the way they do now.

Yes, the US Government and FEMA #####@ up badly.....badly.  It was epic failure, and they got chastised for it and it left a bad mark (amongst others) on the Bush Admin.

However, there is another side to it and that is people trying to paint the bad apples of New Orleans as victims.

A lot of people suffered in New Orleans, and it is a very small percentage of people that participated in these awful actions.

Katrina is tragic for several reasons: The natural disaster itself, the failure of government, the failure of emergency operations and the lack of urgency in getting assistance to the people of New Orleans, along with the actions of  a few that turned New Orleans into Bedlam.
