Why isn't there any parity in women's college hoops?

I'm sure you can bump this thread in any given year and it would still be relevant

With that said,jesus Uconn :x :x :x :x

Auriemma's been on his Auerbach steez for a minute

Pretty sure it's going for their 4th straight.

No?

Fixed.

They don't pick who they play.

Everyone having the same opportunity, Auriemma is light years better.

Great coach...and why would parity matter (to him) if you're getting the best of the best recruits and dominating the competition?

Nothing will change.

it's starts with the top talents. uconn scoops them all up, not their fault. but there are the exceptions when the best ladies do go somewhere else.
tenn-uconn was a really good rivalry for awhile

What was uconn's record against baylor when griner was there? Wish there were more players like her at other schools to make games interesting.

Almost 4 years later and this thread is still relevant  :x

It's just UCONN.

Tennessee and Duke used to be great 10 years ago, now ND , South Carolina and Baylor have passed them

Funny thing is this was supposed to be a down year for uconn. Geno is an all time great coach no matter how you cut it. I do not believe he has had the number 1 player since Stewart. He picks and chooses wisely who he recruits. All of his players have to be coachable. There is a player that is on south Carolina that was a recent number 1 and he did not want her as she wouldn't fit in his system.

They almost lost in the beginning of the season.

91 in a row is ridiculous. That shouldn't be happening in a sport. Yeah geno and the school are far superior but they shouldn't be 91 games superior.

Candance Parker explained it.

She said the drop off from the BEst HS players and the Next Tier Below that is a significant dropoff. Great than that on the men's side.

Men: The difference between A Top 10 HS players and a Top 50 isn't THAT significant.
Women: The difference between a Top 10 HS and a Top 50 player is HUGE

So that is why the best teams stay great

Why is that, though?

Interesting point, did not really know that.

The range between the very top womens teams and the next tier has always been wide, I would have thought by now it would have started to close a bit. UConn just played #20 South Florida - the score was 102-37.

They're 138-1 since March 23, 2013
They've yet to lose a single conference game since entering the AAC (58-0)

Women's hoop, is so unathletic in comparison to the Mens game.. There's a guaranteed blowout game each and everyday there's a women's game, especially in College.

It has been 821 days since UConn lost a game

SI.com:

The truth is, it is hard to see this team losing again for the foreseeable future. They are the top team in the country this year, and next year’s team will include 6-6 Duke transfer Azura Stevens and Megan Walker, the No. 1 recruit in America. ESPN commentator Kara Lawson was being dead serious when she said during Monday night’s broadcast that the consecutive winning streak could reach 200 games. Their last defeat came on Nov. 17, 2014 when Stanford pulled out an 88-86 win in overtime at Maples Pavilion. That win ended a 47-game winning UConn winning streak.
