Will an unlocked bb 9700 for tmobile work with AT&T's 3g network?

I know tmobile has different GSM frequencies then AT&T, but since both companies offer this same phone, will AT&t's 3g network work with anunlocked 3g tmobile phone?

My friend confirmed it that it doesn't work. I shouldve asked him first before posting. Lol. I wanted to know because I found one on craigslist for cheap.

edge would work perfectly .

but t-mobile uses the 3g frequencies 900/1700/2100 Mhz instead of the typical 850/1900 MHz

so 3g may not work. but you can connect it to work with att. for voice and edge data. no doubt about that.
