Also, the IMAX showing helped boost sales. I mean my date and I's ticket were $30 in total.

The storyline of the movie was good, but it failed in the design of the creatures and the actual "storytelling." The movie could have been gold, butI question some of the decisions made in putting the film together.

And really, Will Smith's performance was great. Not "Why he don't want me, man?" great, but very solid.

chipmunks pulling in $45m is insane....i doubt it'll make 10m next week.
It would probably make more because I dont think there are anymore kids movies coming out this next couple of weeks and parents need something totake there kids to.

It should do more than 10m next week. This movie attracts more than just the kids. I wouldn't be surprised if there are as much adults as kidsgoing to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. I'm 23 and i grew up watching the cartoon when I was a kid. So I know alot of adults are anxious to see this as well.
