Has contract.  Wont live up to it.  Walks away from game.

We have seen other players try and pull similar moves whether they be with hold outs, retirements, etc.  I have a feeling this man gets a free pass from a majority of talking heads and "experts".

Vagina.

absolutely. barry pisses me off more because of the sheer talent. i think a lot of people can say they missed him when he bounced.

palmer on the other hand...go the eff home, bum. no one will miss you.

I was going to reference Barry Sanders, glad you posted that.

You put them in the same category?

Owner says he already considers Carson retired. Dysfunctional organization stays dysfunctional.

The only way they're similar is retiring with time left on a contract, in situations that both of them hated.

Barry was actually good at football.

The free pass he has been getting over the years will continue here. It was always someone else's fault, never his. Now this wont be his fault, it will be the Mike Brown's fault even though he backed up the Brinks truck for the golden boy and paid him boatloads of cash and Palmer played his hand by saying trade/release me or I am walking away.  I am glad they said %+$+ you.

As horrible as an organization the Bengals are, anyone that holds out or leaves the team gets a free pass

That said he has gotten heat in Cincy

Man Carson's career did not end up going anywhere I envisioned five years ago SMH.

Just don't blame Kimo for that, not his fault and it was an accident

I rarely get upset with ayers trying to better their situations, only rookies holding out bother me

That could be the rookie's only shot @ that kind of dough.  Why would you get upset @ that?  Palmer got paid as a rookie and then re-upped with them when they threw a $#!# load of cash his way.  Didnt seem to bother him then.

I'll respect Carson if he doesn't get traded and actually does retire.

There's no reason for players to honor contracts since the owners don't. The guy doesn't want to be there, so he's using the only leverage he has. Props to him for that.

I just didnt like the way Tiki went out throwing everybody under the bus just to come crawling back like scum.

example?

how do you feel about every single player who has had 1 good season and then held out the next for more money, and would it be fair for an organization to "lock out" a player if he has a bad year and pay him considerably less money for the next season?

Ummm  Really?

And I dont think what Palmer is doing is necessarily right but its obvious both sides need to part ways. You might as well get what you can out of the situation.

Carson is really going to retire?
Props to him for that. But with the lower quality of the bengals training staff he had no business coming back as soon as he did.
Look at this point even though he has played since these injuries, Prob needing a tommy John, and a knee tear of that caliber he has prob been over achieving the past 2 years.
say what you want about bad decision making but pre injury he makes most of the near pick throws and the int throws.
He has Brett Farve syndrome

Seriously? How about when a player gets cut with years on his deal?

Neither side can argue about hold outs/cuts because they are guilty of the same thing.

If I was him, i'd go home and live my life. btw, how much longer on the contract. Say if it's 2 years, can he "Retire" for 2 then come back as a free agent?
