Hey guys,
I just got out of a lot of trouble to get my IV's today and wanted to know your opinion on an idea I had.
Disney does not mass produce DVD's of their classic titles and does not advertise them in any way. You can only get the classic movies Walt Disney produced himself by using a MOD (manufacturing on demand) service. Every single order is being produced individually.
Now my question is - would that work for sneakers?
Nikes strategy is producing little quantities and generating hype via media which ultimately leads to people running them over and buying them quickly. But take the IV's for instance - it's a classic model that comes in small quantities when it does. But wouldn't it work just as well if a MOD service was installed and the prices would simply be set higher for each individual order? It works with Nike ID, so why not as a MOD?
I don't understand a lot about the logistics of manufacturing a pair of sneakers but it can't be this bad if they are still able to sell them at such prices.
