X Box or Playstation 3

My 1st grader wants a game console. I don't want to spend $400 for the latest and greatest. He loves Minecraft and that is probably what he would play the most. What's your opinion? PS3 of X-Box?

Cop him a PS4 and buy a annual PS Plus sub. Essentially 24 games for 50 bucks, most of the free game seem geared towards kids anyway.

If you really just looking for either or just get da 360. In the end you'd be saving money just getting the ps4 on black friday, the kid won't need an upgrade for about 5 years.
