I assume "Prelude" means they're doing a ZK1 Prelude, ZK2 Prelude, etc. leading up to the release of the IX. The "Multi" color description might be some pattern we'll see on the Kobe IX, and they'll release 1-8 with said pattern. The ZK1 had some amazing PE colorways. I'm guessing they're just going to do one new CW for each model, but I'm still hoping to see these: And the 81 pts of course. Aside from the performance aspects of the shoe, which NSW may or may not strip when it comes to retroes, the ZK1 had some nice materials... hoping they don't bastardize that.
i was just thinking about this last night and figured id post here. since theyre "preludes" and supposed to lead us to the 9, what if they redo the 1 with a flyknit or EM upper instead of the original. only reason i though this might happen is cause the color description says multicolor and the flyknit/mesh materials seem most likely to follow a multicolor description. purely speculation on my part though.
If this ZK1-6 thing comes to fruition it would be very interesting to see. If done right I'm definitely ready for it.
I'd lose my GD mind if they release a 1-9 colorway. I've never seen those Westchester 1's either...straight crack!
If they were smart they would drop the 81 point games and mass produce them. Guaran damn tee they would sell every single pair. These were the only Kobe's I ever cared for honestly.. Hope I can get a pair if they drop and they aren't some ridiculous colorway.
The first Jordan retros came out in part because he retired for the first time though, with Nike unsure if he'd be back, and neither Lebron nor Kobe (at least hopefully not for a couple years) are quite there. It'd kind of be new territory for Nike to start mass releasing retros for an active player while he also has a new sig on the market. Wouldn't be out of the question, but you'd kind of wonder if retroing & releasing the older models would cannibalize sales of the newest model. I could see them doing a few QS releases leading up to the 9s, but I kind of doubt Nike would start actively releasing tons of Kobe retros already since he hasn't officially retired yet. I guess following the rumors maybe we'll see QS releases of the Kobe I-VI in a new colorway, then they'll disappear til Kobe's officially done. Guess we'll find out.
Preludes until the 9 release would definitely have nike taking over my bank transactions this is definitely a smart move on Nikes part IF they follow through
If indeed prelude to the 9, these will probably end up being difficult to get... Unless colorways blow me away, I won't lose sleep over getting a pair. Id rather look for older pairs I don't have for cheap.
I'm with s dubl on this. Would really have to be wowed by how the Preludes turn out, otherwise I'll just be hunting for "OGs" as usual
the one id be really excited to see would be the 3s. flyknit upper with the webbing on top of the flyknit. i think that would be pretty sweet
