Ordered the black/whites from east bay. Will pick up the green/white in the next few weeks. Anyone know where to get the red/white jawns?

I know there's a Vick 3 thread but it's dead. So I won a pair of used Vick III's off eBay that came in last week.

They cleaned up fine and soles were fully intact. Worn them 1x and the portion of the outsole that wraps around to midsole on the lateral forefoot had separated. Reglued with ShooGoo and hoping it holds. If not will use the E-6 glue unless there is something better available now?

Had been keeping an eye on eBay hoping to pull down some other older pairs the last few weeks but after this issue I'm wondering if maybe buying to wear isn't such a safe bet anymore after 11 years? I've passed on a few deals/steals in my size lately for various reasons but now thinking maybe just wait for what is sure to be subpar retros if the retro II's are any indication.

I bought a pair DS Lebron AZG last year. Was so hyped, until when I was at the mall and the heal was cracking. It's a risk you have to take I guess, because I love wearing my shoes.

Cracking? Ouch. I know worn shoes are more likely to hold up over time than stocked shoes but cracking is surprising. Obviously how they were stored over the years will have an effect too.

Will see how the glue fix works. I know shoes like Dunks and AJ1's stand the test of time.

Yeah. Only problem is even though I wear my shoes I'm like ocd about getting them, I only buy ds haha. So I figured might as well wait for brons to retro instead of running the risk of this happening again. A buddy of mine has a pair of Vick trainers and there's been no sole separation and he's worn those alot

So the part I glued with ShoeGoo seems to have set well. But when I took the laces off I tied it in place with I noticed there is some separation at the toe as well. Didn't have time to fix it this am before work so will do that this afternoon.

I think I'm just going to avoid buying original pairs now unfortunately.

I got these for a steal at $28.20 and seller refunded me $5 because I specifically asked if insoles where there was told yes but on arrival weren't. So $23.20 out of pocket and lesson learned. They still are comfortable but not worth buying for hassle of having to fix them.

EDIT: Glued them last night. Was a little more separation than I initially thought. I'm done with OG Vick's after this. Not willing to shell out for DS pairs to gamble against. Thought a worn pair would be a safer bet but time catches up to everything eventually. Lesson learned. Just hoping these glue well and can still be worn.

Also, wore the retro II's last night to watch the game. Very stiff straight out the box. Hopefully after a few wears they break in nicely. They seem cut long and narrow compared to the originals that to me were TTS and slightly wide.

I got my Black/White Toe colorway in. For the most part, I am pleased with this retro. My question is this, does anyone who has them or, seen them in person, was there any wrinkles (almost could be mistaken for light creases) on the toe box area?

So I've worn the Vick 2's exactly twice. First time was for maybe an hour total. Wore them again today to work.

And now I notice that the zoom bag in the right shoe is like dead. You can tap the bottom of the shoe and it sounds hollow as can be. The left shoe doesn't sound like that. When you push against the bag it doesn't pop back out. The left shoe does. And I can feel a difference too. So clearly the shoe is defective.

I bought them from Eastbay but is it possible to return them to Nike as a defective product? I really don't want to deal with Eastbay after how damaged the box was on arrival.

Can I take them to a Nike Factory Store and they handle the return or do I have to go through NDC?

Google "Nike claim" and the website handles everything but you gotta front the shipping costs.

I ended up going through Eastbay for the return since NDC didn't have them in stock for an exchange. So will be waiting to hear from Eastbay on my defective claim.

Also, wore my Lebron II's today for the first time in maybe a year. I got them back in '05 and I'm the only owner so i know how they've been stored. Noticed separation at the ballistic panels and also some at the toecap and outsole. Really disappointing to see. This is making me more worried about my Jordan retros from the mid-00's that they are going to have a similar fate very soon if I wear them again. Maybe it's time to sell off the old guard?
EDIT: forefoot zoom in R shoe deflated now. Won't be regluing these. Time does no favors for shoes lol.

^good to see more pairs releasing. That was the colorway I wanted but settled for the white/black ogs instead. Speaking of...

I got my defective pair exchanged by Eastbay. They came 2 weeks ago or so. Was surprised at the quick turn around time. Haven't worn them yet though really out of annoyance.

Will pick up those black/reds if I see them for the low though.

I ended up getting the white/blacks for $100 even after discount code, GC, and cs refund for the box being smashed.

Was from Eastbay. They were $150 list price and used a 20% off code, a $10 gc, and was issued an $10 refund from customer service after complaining how destroyed the box was.
