    How to Avoid Mainstream Rap

What blogs are you reading, who's new flow are you digging today, where do you go to find something outside of the norms of mainstream music. Since I've joined this forum I see that people really can't stand something that sounds fabricated but more times than none they fail to give an example...

When did it become ok to steal flows? Vol. Quavo has too many sons

idk about the cuban links, but i agree with you. The music thats pushed in front of us today typically follow a trend and hip hop has been that way forever. I a lot of ppl value the trends that were relevant in the 90s and want them to reoccur but it doesnt work that way, you gotta hope for a...

When did it become ok to steal flows? Vol. Quavo has too many sons

I think Hammer helped with this bling era instead of getting clowned being the only way we remember him . Dude was pulling 33 million a year but went broke on that super bling lifestyle.

When did it become ok to steal flows? Vol. Quavo has too many sons

Who do you start blaming though, It's clear that when it comes to the craft or business a lot of artist choose the former. You really can't help that people love this type of stuff and that some artist see this as a way to cash out. With the rise of the internet rapper you can't beat the appeal...

When did it become ok to steal flows? Vol. Quavo has too many sons

It;s the nature of the beast. I'm not saying that every rapper does it, but a lot of rappers, musicians of other genres in fact, do whats most popular of the time until EVERYONE is tired of it or a new flow takes over, I think its the same with production as well with a lot of the ATL cats, but...

Is Jay-Z too old to Rap

Right but NCIS is an example of him putting his focus elsewhere, and think about how many singles and tapes those guys named previously had dropped

Is Jay-Z too old to Rap

I don't believe ll has even tried to stay as relevant [musically] as the ppl you mentioned. Everyone one else has done feature after feature, single after single, and at least put out one piece of work. I don't think ll has been doing that in the last 5 yrs

Is Jay-Z too old to Rap

If that was the case you could say the same thing about Wayne. He mightve emulated Young thug one time but thats not forever, like Drake and that Migos flow. Kanye is climbing up the age later as well ppl are still willing to listen to him.

Is Jay-Z too old to Rap

I agree, Danny Brown didn't make it until around 30 yrs old. And Jay z was still winning awards into his 40s.  Musicians shouldnt be limited to age.

    What is REAL/FAKE in 2015

MY people are the origins of most music today and they are used to tell many stories and since before Rock and Roll have been sold by people outside of my culture. They will never own it, no matter how much money they make out of it, thats very disrespectful to hip hop. Theres too many other...

    What is REAL/FAKE in 2015

I think all art is amoral bc as ppl we have the ability to create something that is somehow aesthetically pleasing. When i see a violent movie, its entertaining, when I hear old gangster songs its entertaining, I have no way to tell whether their stories are real or not  bc I like getting caught...

    What is REAL/FAKE in 2015

Like you said, rappers work very hard to sell their image bc it goes along with the tales they tale and Rick works very hard at that. If someone takes him for something more than an entertainer that makes him a damn good salesman. It really doesnt matter to me bc I never really considered Ross...

    What is REAL/FAKE in 2015

If you watch the interview Shyne brings up a nice example of a false statement that im pretty sure Drake won't live up to.  The WWE is pretty freaking entertaining and Im sure Rick Ross doesnt go home counting kilos., I think your silly if you think so. Anytime an artist is being recorded...

    What is REAL/FAKE in 2015

Is it necessary to discredit people like Drake and Rick Ross because they tell tales. I think acting and storytelling has been a big part of hip hop for a while and a good story isnt always real.

Is Jay-Z too old to Rap

I think you just have a real particular idea of what's good. I think dude can sing, when I listen to him I hear many overlaying harmonies that are reminiscent of t pain (not just the autotune). You think hes bad but I think he's catchy af. I believe making mainstream music is more complicated...
