The College Basketball Post

This is probably gonna rustle jimmies and open up Pandora's box but outside of Melo and Warrick, when's the last time a 'Cuse player stuck in the league?

I've seen dudes like Rautins, Greene, Flynn, Onuaku, Fab, Joseph, and soon to be Wes Johnson straight flame out with the quickness.

Is Boeheim to blame?

I'm just amazed he got Wes and Flynn drafted in the top ten.....Wes was the big east player of the year under Jimmy, can't really knock that but I do agree on the fact that he comes up a little short on developing guys for the nba. He's great at making guys look very good in his system but that doesn't translate obviously. Rautins Was a 2 star recruit, getting him drafted was a miracle, Onuakus a 3 star 6-8 center, John wooden wasn't getting him drafted.

Cuse gets good -very good recruits but there's a misconception there adding these top ten kids yearly. Outside of Melo who was the last top 5 recruit? Billy Owens? Not many. Jim recruits players that fit his system and displays their strengths while hiding the weaknesses well. Fine with me, I root for the jersey, I hope the kids end up doing well in the league but Boeheims system is basically street ball on offense (dont judge by this tear) and obviously the zone. He doesn't teach fundamentals well at all , he recruits athletes that he hopes turn into bbball players rather then recruiting a fundamentally sound kid who may be too small for his zone

Nick Johnson
The major problem is no one penetrates and breaks down the defense

Nick is the #1 candidate and he refuses to slash. Only time he gets to the rim is on breaks. How a man with his athleticism shoots as little FTs as he does is mind boggling

Nick Johnson doesn't have the handle to do that, at Findlay prep he was basically a 6'3 small forward, he was a DTA: defense threes athleticism.

He's gotten better at Arizona becuase he's got the ball in his hands, but doesn't have that shake in the half court, scoring instincts that im not sure you can teach.

I was going to say for as athletic as he is, his handle is a little suspect, which is a waste because he really is explosive.

If Kyle Anderson plays well Florida goes down. UCLA's offense is real, they put up buckets on Zona, they can do it to Florida.

All he gotta do is take 2 dribbles and elevate...

Yeah I don't think Sean Miller would be happy with closely guarded long two point jumpers. ie worst shot in bastetball

Might as well take 2 dribbles out and take the shot thats worth 3 points.

No, two dribbles toward the basket. That would easily get him to the rim. He shoots well enough that you have to honor any up fake

Baylor needs to speed the pace up if they want to move on. Hanging around plays right into Wosconsins advantage

Yeah. Baylor being forced into playing a halfcourt game is the worst possible scenario for them. They have to somehow speed this game up or its a wrap

Baylor can try and speed the game up like Oregon did, not sure its gonna matter..and they aren't nearly as adept at scoring as the Ducks are...you give Bo 4-5 days to prepare for a team and this is what happens, they're getting basically an open shot every time down

They need to man up and try to create some turnovers. That may lead to some fast break points, which they need because that half court offense is looking awful right now :x
