Hey guys, I'm a newb when it comes to Macs, but I have to buy one for my field (Video production). Could you guys recommend me which Mac would be most efficient running software like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, etc? What specs should I be looking for? Thanks in advance.

Any recommendations on a good app to back-up files to an external HD ?
Or is time machine good enough ?

No, they know the policy, but they would rather replace it than try to explain why the customer needs to buy a new battery. For some reason Apple customers dont seem to understand that the battery in their computer/iphone/ipad/ipod is the same as any other battery and will die over time. I've never seen so many people feeling entitled to a new battery than with Apple customers.

Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. Can't go wrong with either one.

What is a good program so that I can burn some videos into DVDs?

Edit - My MB won't read the DVD's anybody else have this problem? I looked around and it seems I need to buy a lens cleaner.
Going to try that out, hopefully that fixes the issue.

Will the iMac's have retina display's too? or anything worth waiting for for that matter. I want to get one up for school.

NT help me out. My macbook is 5 years old now and its finally time for me to get a new one. I dont really know much about computers and dont need my new computer to do anything to crazy. What is a better buy as 15 inch last generation macbook pro, or the new generation 13 inch macbook pro? and why? I cant do the macbook air.

So i upgraded to the standard 2012 MBP 13" today & added 4 GB to the RAM. Also took advantage of the school discount & purchased the protection plan as well.

I saw the Retina display, but it's not worth it IMO.

Anyways, I received a $100 App/iTunes/iBooks Gift Card as well.

Can anyone recommend must have applications/programs to purchase.

Has anyone sent their mac to get to get multiple repairs?
I'm looking to get my ac charger replaced, HDD replaced, audio jack fixed, and rubber feet.
Has anyone exaggerated minor HDD problems and has had Apple successfully replace their HDD for a bigger one?
If that's possible then would it be customary for apple to replace old 250gb HDDs from 2010 mbp with 500gb HDDs of the current mbp or even 2011?
The things I really need fixed are my charger and audio jack, but would it be worth the trouble to have them try to replace my HDD?
I'm trying to get the most out of my applecare plan since it'll be expiring sometime in early 2013.
