Ok So last night coming home from work my dashboard doesnt glow *all the little lights on the side still work and headlights work, but the gas meter andspeedometer and stuff dont glow* So I`m thinking it's maybe a fuse and go to Advance Auto this morning and they say it may be wiring or the bulb blew.

So I`m off tommrow and I am going to the shop, I was just wondering how much should I be looking to be charged to have this fixed, cause I aint really up oncar maintence so I ain't trying to get ripped off. And like could it be the O2 Sensor or something?

Good looking out.

there is a button that dims and brighten the dashboard usually on the left side, check it.

lol your 02 sensor has nothing to do with the cluster lights going out. like you were told, it might just be the bulb that gave out. (most likely) you gottapull out the cluster and take out the bulb and switch it with the right one. this sounds easy but if you have no idea what you are doing you might be betteroff going to a mechanic.

I never even touched it before for it to happen, but I was playing with it last night while in the parking lot at work before I left and nothing happened, ifwe're talking about the same thing, but I`ll try again tonight.

yall pray I dont get pulled over for speeding or something tonight, haha cause I didnt know how fast I was driving the whole time on the freeway

Check your fuse box first. Look at the diagram and find out which one would control the dash lights. It's free and you normally have a replacement or twoin there. Don't go to a mechanic to get them to change out a bulb. They will charge about $50 for parts and labor. Find a fried who knows what he is doingand ask him to help you out.

thats the thing tommrows my only day off this week and I always drive at night coming home from work, so I just want to get it over with. It wasnthard to drive home but I just rather not take any risk. When I when I went to Advance we did the fuse box thing and thats when dude told me it's mostlikely a bulb.

If none of the above works, stop buying Ralph Lauren clothes and fix your car instead.

woulda been funny if it made sense.

I got a 97 Chevy Lumina though. I`ma take it to the shop tommrow to see what they tell me, I know they gonna try and tax me for something that is simple but Ican't afford to learn how to be a mechanic right now.

check the fuses

its the fuses trust me...

find the fuses box and it'll have a fuse diagram... find the fuse that is blown and replace it...

go to autozone before you got to a mechanic.

I had the problem once, but it fixed itself the next morning. How long has the problem been going? I'd agree with others and say to check the fuses.

agreed/
in your owner's manual. tells you how to do it. also, autozone has a DIY online manual too.

Yea could be def a fuse, since all other lights are working, just replace the burnt one.. is really cheap

I went to Advanced Auto this morning and they said they didnt have anything for the Meters, but I`ll check again myself in the morning to see ifit indeed is just the fuse.

is it self explanitory how to do the repairs? because I just dont want to go threw any hassles and end up screwing up my whip. How exactly do youremove the meter thing to check if your bulb is done?
