guys, im just curious, is nike bringing back the ALPHA PROJECT??? last time i saw AIR ZOOM MVP with the five dots, and now, i saw the hurache 2k9 with samefive dots...personally, i like the apparel of the ALPHA PROJECT...shed some light guys...
 
Alpha Project was/is the NT screen name of Jason Petrie who designed the Zoom MVP and some other shoes... You'll also see the 5 dots on the Air Force Stat.
 
the alpha project used to symbolize the shoes that excelled in performance according to nike's standards

garnett 3, bb4, r4, xt4, gp's, hyperflights, ultraflights, and countless others including the presto

if you felt the shoe was groundbreaking, and or unique in it's own way....most like the five dots was on the shoes


but then again there were some random forces in the alpha boxes....dont get it twisted though lol
 
i know alpha project is NTname for jason petrie but the one im was asking is the product line..i know also that most of the shoes were groundbreaking...imasking is that i noticed that the 5 dots were noticeably absent for a long time and now, i see them in most shoes....u mean that the 5 dots doesnt representanything?? u mean that alpha project is not a product line in NIKE???
 
Back then in the laste 90's- early 2000, the alphaproject dots on the shoes indicated everything mentioned by the guys above. but now Alphaproject (Jason)the designer uses it to indicate his work.
 
ALPHA project denotes footwear, apparel, and accessories that utilize statement level technology in their respective categories, such as Zoom Air, Sphere, orSHOX. NIKE isn't bringing it back, because they never discontinued it - although it isn't as prominent as it once was. Yes, Jason Petrie adopted itas his screeen name, but he isn't the only designer creating ALPHA project shoes. I'm almost positive he works primarily in Basketball, and therehave been many ALPHA shoes in other categories released during his tenure.

Also, the third picture below is Keven Garnett, Chris Aman, and Aaron Cooper (among others) developing one of KG's shoes - that's a lot of talent inone room.

alpha project product line never really stopped dude...CWK explained it well...
 
The Kukini running shoes (original ones) are some of my favorite shoes of all time... long live the Alpha project!


edited - if you're looking for a pair of Kukinis, check the sig. I gotta give up a pair in this recession
 
Anyone know if the Alpha Project also came out with basketball jerseys? I just got one off ebay acouple of weeks ago, a nike jersey of eddie jones - the niketag on the collar says nike alpha project with the 5 dots on it. Are these legit?

Anyways, I remember the zoom gp gloves, loved how they looked but not really comfortable because of the strap. Bought the wht/blk and blue/wht pairs back inthe days...

i have an old Kobe jersey that also has the 5 dots.

when was the last original alpha project drop? aside from the new presto react that has already been released at some shops.
 
I would love a pair of Nike Air Afterburner Flights for nostalgic reasons.
Not sure if they are considered alpha project, but they have a similar design to the MVPs mentioned in the OG post.
