What age did you/will you stop wearing Nikes?

i am 31
and i buy still some neutral colored blazers to go to work
don't buy anymore the crazy stuff

I'm 41 and a sneakerhead. I still buy stuff all the time and I rock it proudly whenever I get the opportunity. I think that if you are truly a person whoreally loves sneakers that never goes away no matter how old you get. Just because you get older does not mean that you automatically have to wear loafers anddockers.

i kno ill never throw them away or anything..but as you get older you gotta know wen to throw the loafs on...lord willing ill have an insane collection to putin my will

its like playing with toys. some take longer than others to grow out of the habit. the sneakers i cant wear goes to my kids.

its not that you'll be too old to wear nikes.. its just probably the older you get.. the less money you're willing to spend on shoes.. like going fromfootlocker to Big 5 or something.. uuuugggh

^^^I am just the opposite. Now that I am a little older and can afford more kicks I spend waaaay more money on them than I did when I was younger.

LOL I was referring to the thought process you would be going through as you age where you might stop wearing Nikes daily & just wear normalwork/dress shoes more often.

This post can't be as stupid as some of the other 1000+ posts on NT re: "What fitted goes with what shoe?" & "How do you spellGoogle?" type of posts but I could be wrong.

I know as a tangible object the shoes will always be there but you might just grow out of them or that particular brand; like the another poster stated usingthe anology of toys. Funny thing too as I work for a toy company & am surrounded by toys everyday

I'm going to say once I have a family, I'll stop buying kicks for good. I only buy nikes for basketball now......

Good post, I've always wondered this.

I don't think it'll ever stop for me although most adults view sneaker-collecting as childish or something you out grow.

tough call, but I'll always have love for the Swoosh.

NEVER!!! But I see myself wearing less "flashy" shoes when I get older...I'll still rock nice kicks, just more tame colorways. The crazy colorsI'll have to "live" through when I buy them for my kids!!! lol

I agree with dude. I'm 27 and I buy sneakers for the love of sneakers. No matter how old I get, that's never going to change. I mean I willhave times I need to rock something besides sneakers, so I'll just cop some Cole Haans. After all, Cole Haans use Nike Air cushioning, so it's still awin, win situation!

Will you still be rocking Nikes when you're older, as in 40-50+ years old?

I think the only reason my Dad wears Nikes is because I give him some pairs lol

Myself, I think there is a mental cutoff point - for example, outside of the basketball court do you envision yourself in Jordans or Foamposites for casual wear when you're older, taking the lady/family out on the town? Or do you come correct in dress shoes, loafers, etc.?

Just wondering how other NTers take this or if they give it much thought - I mean, what is the point of the collection overall unless you're going to get around to wearing most of them in time, right?
Props to the senior folk @ the rest home in who rock crispy J's by the way
