Ok, I've read the entire Sneaker maintenance and cleaning sticky, however, I still don't quite understand.... What is the best way to 100% keep thesoles icy on J's such as the carmines? I want to put all my CDP's away for a long time and keep them as fresh as humanly possible. What is the best wayto do this?

there is no way to keep the cdp ice icey. it come pre-yellowed so u might as well just forget about this altogether and just wear and enjoy them. otherwise urgonna have piss yellow DS carmines & fr 5s.
smh.gif

what he said jus enjoy your shoes while there still icey because my carmines and fire reds are already gettin yellow........sea glow would help but i guessthats more down the road

Sea Glow....definantly helps...

used it on my grape Vs before they yellowed...now they have a blue-%!@ lookin sole...so maybe that pro-longs it?

they will yellow overtime regardless.... dry, cool, dark areas are best for it.... if you aren't gonna rock.... seran wrap it up...

How?

they definitely yellow overtime no matter what. I sold a pair of carmines about two months ago and they yellowed a tad bit just from being in the box. stillwas somewhat icy though just make sure they can breathe and get cool air.

no exposure to light, and a place with a moderate climate. humidity messes stuff up (unrelated but i saw a guy with a pair of medicom 3s that had fungus andweird stuff on them from humidity), under the bed, sylicia if you want, away from a heater is prolly your best bet

just wear them. what good is storing them going to do you? so you can wear them in 20 years and yellow them then?

i have the retro V's (black/silver and fire red) from 2006/07, along with the CDP carmines, and i dont wear them, not because i am afraid to, but because ihave so many black and wht/red sneakers, why un-DS them all?

saran wrap? silica?

what should i do to prolong it?

For everyone that keeps telling me to wear them.... Whats wrong with collecting? I want to save every CDP and keep them 100% DS. Is something wrong with that?Would it not be cool to have every jordan 1-23 ( I have a pair of 23's) in perfect deadstock shape 10-20 years from now? IMO it would be, thats why I ask.Basicaly you guys are saying it is vertualy impossible to keep them ICY? I mean I see some Infared's that look pretty dam close to ICY. Is silica packsenough? Any more help would be great... Thanks

it helps to swap the paper out for a cut up black garbage bag. the paper and the cardboard of the box contribute to the yellowing.

I've heard that seran is a bad idea but what do i know lol. I would do what myfeetstank said...actually im bout to go do that wit all my icy shoes rightnow.
