I was meticulously cleaning our garage this afternoon and ran into my extremely old, now obsolete Hi-8 camcorder. I was immediately going to just throw it inthe Goodwill pile until my wife pretty much coerced me in plugging it in to quickly verify what video coverage was in the tape, which obviously, was still inthe camcorder. To my unexpected surprise, the tape that was in the cam was my whole video coverage of Niketalk's NorCal Summit 7 in Benicia. Right uponpressing play, it was showing the group pic video coverage on the hill. For those of you whom attended know exactly what I was referring to. I ended uprewinding it from the very beginning and watched the whole thing and wanted to share a few highlights from the video:
-btrbean rolling down the grass hill was a classic and a few fellow NTers complimenting him the amount of weight he lost from his last appearance on a previousSummit
-some cat, which I'm 99.9% sure it was JoJo, sporting a celtics warm-up jersey with a blonde bleached hair
-Bastitch's red tip highlights
-Sole Control (no further explanation needed)
-Purist Boutique's owner Kevco still looking pretty much the same today as he did from the video
-the kicks being displayed which included chrome adidas kobe 2 and samples of the AJ 9 pearl lows
-the sick %%+ b-ball games from the 1st court all the way to the other court where we all decided to move; at one point there were two games going on at once,which obviously took place on the other court we moved to since the 1st one only consisted of 1 full court
-rawkbeezurt rocking the copper AJ 17s many months before it was scheduled to release (I take it from the comments made from the video that he has the rep ofrocking AJ samples months prior to its release from the previous summits rawkbeezurt attended)
-HovaJordan arriving late and him being him
-djmrsulu selling the OG NT shirt (I actually copped two of them and for the record, the OG NT shirt's brand >>>> AAA shirt brand that they areprinted on now)
-friscohusla straight roastin me on the box of frozen chicken I brought .... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
...There are many more but the above mentioned are what's on top of my head at the moment. I'm close to my mid 30s now but watching the entire videomade me realize how significant NT has become in my shoe collecting hobby and I'm sure I speak for the majority of the NTers who are still present heretoday from Summit 7. My shoe hobby/collection has substantially decreased since but it really brought so many unforgettable memories back. I'm also evenmore thankful that I have had a chance to cross paths with some of ya'll. Unfortunately for me, Summit 7 was the only one I attended but I'm prettysure it is one, IF NOT THE BEST, NorCal summit that ever took place. Maybe with the very first NorCal Summit being the extremely close exception. Maybe. What Iknow for sure is that EVERYONE who was in attendance at Summit 7 had a freakin' blast. I sure damn did. Come to think of it now, I am really glad I justdid not immediately get rid of the camcorder. Something within me told me that I had to plug it in. Needless to say, I'm glad I did. As I've mentionedon previous summit posts, if at least 75% of the Summit 7 attendees can commit to showing up on a future Summit ... then you can definitely count me in.
...FYI, for those who may not remember me from Summit 7, I was the one who brought my wife and my son along ... and the box of frozen chicken. My son at thattime was only an infant and he's now 7 yrs. old in 2nd grade. Just goes to show you how long it has been.....
I apologize for my lengthy blabber above but I just wanted to sincerely express the fond memories from that particular event. Good times. ..... Good timesindeed.
