Don't, I threw some beater team J's in the washer, and they came out worse.
But then again, it might depend on what kind of washer you got.

Don't know about the washer..BUT DEFINITELY DONT THROW ANY JAYS IN THE DRYER! look in the maintenance thread for the 10s that got thrown in the dryer.

when my jordanz get beaterz or close too it i usally throw them in the washer and sometimez they come out lookin fresh lol just throw it on like handwash orsomethin so it spin slow and etc. the last jordanz i remeber throwin in the washer was my lowtop 8z blk/red onez they was ashy and grey lookin they came outlookin fresh they will probably turn grey again but so far they didnt and this has been like 6monthz ago lol

espeacilly to hare 7s but then again my friend did throw his in there and they looked brand new they were creased like a mofo and the purple 2 onthe back fell off

OP- Don't throw your J's in the washer, it will ruin them. Just clean them by hand and if they are too bad for that then just use them as beaters

I used to throw my shoes in a pillow case, and then throw em in the washer. This was 2004, so i used my white cement 3's and Flint 12's.
I took the laces and soles out, threw em in a pillow case with a little loose detergent and threw em in warm water. Shoes came out looking BRIGHT white. Thecement part and the AIR and Jumpman logo slightly faded. I was still pleased. I actually liked how they looked. The 12's looked brand new. Nothing happenedto my 12's. I continuesly washed my 12's that way.
Shoes are soaked when the process is done though. You have to let them sit for about 3-5 days to allow them to dry....
If you wear your shoes like i did back then, go for it...
