imo, Curry is definitely the best option at point. It looks like he sees the court better than Monta and handles the ball better as well. He has some of thatD-Wade splitting the double team in him.
Defensively, I was pretty surprised. Curry was very active on defense. He plays pretty good help defense, anticipating passes, etc which led to a lot of thesteals/deflections.

sounds like curry would get the position at point, and monta at the 2.
i dont think monta would be too happy
and bring it to acid with reusing some old gifs!

Yeah, pretty much right when he came into the game right? I remember thinking, damn this dude can't even get open to get the inbounds pass.

I hope im not just trying to see what i want to see, but i really think Monta looked like a PG during the beginning of pick and roll possessions.Where it gets ugly is when he can't get a pass in or get penetration because then he bounces around for 10 seconds and then pulls up. There just isn'tany ball movement to the weak side. Where it does look good is when he gets the penetration since he normally has a good sense of where his bigs are. Also, ARand Monta had a nice backdoor cut that originated with AR in the high post.

Golden State Warriors forward Brandan Wright injured his shoulder in practice Friday night -- the same shoulder that held him to 39 games last season -- and it appears to hold a similar fate, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
"We were going to start Anthony Randolph, but I can't tell you that Wright wasn't the better player in camp," Warriors coach Don Nelson said. "We thought he was really going to be a factor this year, so it's quite a loss for us. It's just a real kick in the teeth."
Wright spoke with the newspaper Sunday night and said he's trying to stay positive after learning he needs surgery and might be out between 4-6 months. "I have to look past being upset and think about the positive that I get to get it fixed. "I can come back stronger than ever."
Despite the injury, the Warriors are expected to pick up Wright's option for 2010-11.

Not even the preseason debut of Stephen Curry, the rookie guard selected No. 7 overall by the Warriors, could take the focus away from Golden State's loss of Brandan Wright.
Curry had nine assists, five points (2-for-10 shooting) and five steals in the Warriors' 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday at Oracle Arena. But the encouraging performance at point guard by Curry was overshadowed by the news that Wright will indeed need shoulder surgery.
An MRI of Wright's left shoulder confirmed damage to the capsule- the cartilage ring that surrounds the socket. The timetable for his return will be set after surgery, which is not yet scheduled.
"I'm not going to speculate on whether the season's lost," Wright said, "or how long I'm going to be gone or whatever. I'm just focused on doing the rehab, working hard and coming back even stronger."
Curry impressed those in the Warriors locker room with his court presence. He handled the ball comfortably, controlled the tempo, found the open man and fed the hot shooters.
"Anybody who's going to play with Curry is going to be a beneficiary of a lot of open looks," Nelson said. "That's why I can't keep him and Monta off the court together."
Curry even managed to make a mark on defense.
"I work just as hard on the defensive end as I do on the offensive end," he said. "Being in the right position is where I'm going to be the most effective. (ellipses) I'm trying o be everywhere pretty much on defense. A lock down defender? They might not call me that. But I'll be a great help defender."
But unfortunately for the Warriors, Curry can't play power forward. Wright's injury leaves the team with a noticeable hole at power forward. Wright was arguably the Warriors' best inside scorer, so a primarily jump-shooting team is even more in need of high-percentage offense.
Golden State could pursue a trade. But a team source said the Warriors would only give up their expiring contracts or take on a non-expiring contract if it was for a player they really wanted.
At first, Nelson will likely opt to go small. That means small forward Corey Maggette and swingman Kelenna Azubuike will have to move up to bang with the big boys.
"Whatever I've got to do," Maggette said. "I'll just do the best I can."
Wright said he went up for a jump shot and got fouled on his arm near his elbow. His left shoulder popped out and stayed out of socket for "five or six minutes," he said.
The injury negated what was by all accounts a productive offseason for Wright. He's grown nearly an inch and gained 18 pounds, according to the team, and was arguably the star of training camp before going down.
"Oh yeah, it was going well, but I've moved on," Wright said with a smile. "I'm looking forward."
Didn't know Wright grew an inch. Having 2 PF's 6'11 (and up) would have been nice.
The thing is, anyone can run a pick and roll if you can at least dribble...a good PG makes those tough passes and quick decisions, something I think Monta willhave trouble adapting to. I definitely agree with you on the ugliness of penetration. He just needs to make decisions and go with it but it looks likehe's trying to think his way through being a PG (and I used think lightly) showing it's not his natural position.
I hope the Warriors pick up wright's option...its a low cost higher upside/trade potential/depth move...

Magic GM Otis Smith said Golden State Warriors PG C.J. Watson was one of the few free agents he wanted that got away.
Smith said that, in the end, negotiations with the Warriors "got personal," although he wouldn't elaborate.
Smith tried to acquire Watson, 25, in an apparently generous sign-and-trade attempt after the Warriors made it clear they would match offers for the restricted free agent. The offer was believed to involve various combinations of a first-round draft pick, cash and a player (believed to be Anthony Johnson).
"You wouldn't believe what we offered them," Smith said. "I think it got personal."
Smith said he wasn't aware of any previous bad blood between himself and Golden State. He once played for the Warriors and then worked in their front office as executive director of basketball operations in 2002-03.

I think CJ could be a good player on a good team. He has a really good jumper, but his horrible defense is what I had against. The Magic haveathletic players that they can put around him that would help his lack of defense.

i remember there were talks about it last season. i mean he sort of has the ball handling for it.
a front court of AR-Wright-Beans sounds pretty damn intimidating...sort of. height wise at least.
damn, thinking about gets pretty upsetting. in 3-4 years when all those horrible contracts end, imagine a lineup of
Curry-Marco-Wright-AR-Beans (assuming he stays)
2nd unit of Anthony Johnson-Turiaf (insert future 1st round picks). what a damn shame

Height and length-wise, yes.
However, I think as of right now, Randolph is better suited for the PF spot. He can use his quickness, ball handling, etc. to his advantage against other PFsin the league.
