We're headed out to Italy on Wednesday and man I feel unprepared for this trip on the photography end. Decided that I'll just bring the body, 24-70, a fisheye, and just ordered a MeFoto travel tripod to keep things light. How was Italy and the major tourist spots about bringing in tripods as I planned to do some HDR during the day and long exposure shots at night...

FWIW, we'll be visiting Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and Venice...
 
These shots from Europe look amazing. I'm moving to Germany in October and i can't wait to travel all over the continent.

I didn't have a tripod with me so I didn't encounter any problems, but I would assume you would be fine in most situations outdoors

BTW when you are in Rome, check out Campo Di Fiori and the Trastevere area

I'm on the roatan island of Honduras for vacay and took some pics from my d5100 and 35mm lens, transefered to iPhone from the mobi eyefi card, hope it doesn't lose any quality.
