OFFICIAL NIKE AIR COMMAND FORCE PUMP & 180 PUMP RETRO THREAD (**NEW ACTUAL PIC ON PG 1)

If Kobe's are going for $250 and these actually pump, then $325-350 is a real possibility.

you guys really shouldn't get your hopes up for pump action. what they would charge for that, I don't think most people would be willing to pay for it.

the high cut w/out the pump is a solid compromise, wish they had done that on the flight 180s

If reebok can retro the Twilight Zone and Michael Chang with pump and almost 100 % authentic retro, then Nike should be able to do the David Robinson. I hate Nike always going half way.

All this back & forth about pump/no pump, and people saying no way Nike includes the pump...you guys DO see that the pump and release valve are on the shoes in the sample pics right? If they weren't going to be usable, then why include it in the design? Why not just make them like the 180's, and cut the whole thing out of the design? If they can make Mags with the power laces, they can damn sure put the pump in the Command Forces.

Peace,

yeah, that's reebok. Nike can add the pump, but they can also NOT add the pump, and people will still buy it

Fair enough, but like I said, the pump and the release valve are on the shoe in the pic. Until we see/hear otherwise, not sure why everybody's expecting it not to be there. And before you say "because it's Nike," again, the setup is right there in the pics.

Peace,

jshortt jshortt you can't see the back of the shoe so idk what your talking about, I'm in with or with out the pump tho. bunch of grown men tryna pump their shoes up like they're 12 they got the shape right more or less so I'm good.

my main point was that if wanna charge me 300$ or more for the pump they can keep it

I pointed out the release valve box on the day the pics leaked.
Again, why would the structure be there for nothing?
Nike doesn't hate us THAT much

they put out varsity red jordan 6s within a few months of announcing an "infrared pack" and they put a jordan sole on the bottom of the 88 3s so I think they do lol. I really put nothing past them

I'm with you, but with a shoe KNOWN for the pump, to make it look like it has the pump then not put the pump in is the ultimate troll.
It's such a good troll that i think i'd have to respect it to some extent haha... I just won't buy it.

Brennanizm nailed it the first day. That big pooch at the top/back is the release valve. It's a little black button almost inside the leather. Of course you can't see the button directly, but again, why on earth would that bump be there? It wouldn't. They would've simply cut the whole design cue out, just like the 180's.

Peace,
J

If they don't actually have a functional pump I don't understand why anyone would be mad, at the end of the day it would look the same as the original and that's one if not the most important factor in the return of older shoes. Most people don't know this, but the very first retro of the Reebok court victory pump aka the Changs didn't have a functional pump and this is from a company that is KNOWN for the technology. While I'd love it if the pump was functional (I've been told it will be but we'll see) there's no way it that a lone would keep me from buying.

I don't think there would be any back and forth over the pumps if the 180's hadn't been a butchered disaster of a retro. people just don't want to get their hopes up and be let down again like that. :smh:

for what its worth, you can tell the difference on the og's, its like double the padding when pumped up.

im still down for several pairs of the emeralds and neons regardless, just wating to hear news about when they drop and how much I need to set aside. :D

I understand that, but my point is that the 180's had the pump design cue completely removed. The ankle had a totally new design. The Command Forces have what appears to be the pump and release valve right there in the catalog pics. Whether it's functional or not is a different story, but to keep saying "...because the 180's didn't have it," isn't exactly a fair comparison. We knew that was gone from the start.

i mean, nike made most of us happy with the atscii qs

so they can do it with this model if they so choose

the more of a niche shoe - the more compelled they are to do it right
does this model fall into the niche category (anymore)? i don't know these days

so that part coming out the back of the shoe is supposed to be the pump? ok, here is my prediction, if they drop with the pump, Nike is gonna ramp up the marketing machine (aka a simple tweet with a link to a press release) they'll be over 200$ and still sell out

no , the part coming out of the back was the release. the side bag is the pump.

I hope the pump isn't functional for the prices sake. Having it look like it's there is enough for me, I'm being realistic because I'm not gonna use the pump so to me there is no need. I just want the shoe to look like the originals and by the looks of it, they will so I'm happy, I just hope the price keeps me happy.

I agree. Why would you dudes pay 80% of the cost for a non-functional replica? I'm all or nothing, that's just me and how I roll.

a. lol @ "how I roll"

b. same reason people bought the mags. it's close enough. given Nikes track record for tinkering with retros, we know how bad these could have come out. plus there's a reason Nike and sneaker companies in general abandoned the pump, so it didn't surprise me when they retroed the 180s without it, thought they could of left the height the same

Yeah but air mags were a concept shoe brought to life with the technology at hand. These aren't from the future and the technology is arguably obsolete. Not gonna lie, if these come with the pump these will be rocked in my 30 and over league.
