nike unveils Tim Tebow new sneaker

Tim Tebow already is one of the most recognizable athletes in Denver.

His jersey is the NFL's top seller this year. EA Sports has put him on the cover of a video game.

Now, even before he has played in an NFL game, the Broncos rookie quarterback has a shoe line, courtesy of Nike.

The shoes, which are called Nike Trainer 1.2, are the sameorange-and-blue color scheme featured at the University of Florida,where Tebow won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy.

Nike promotional photos released this week in Florida show a shoewith a blue upper and an orange sole. They also feature the EA Sportslogo on the tongue of each shoe.

One shoe will have "Promise" stitched on the heel, a reference toTebow's impassioned speech after a loss to Mississippi in September2008. That speech is inscribed on a plaque outside the Gators' footballcomplex.

Stitched on the heel of the other shoe will be the years Tebowreached major milestones in college football, such as the year he wonthe Heisman Trophy — 2007 — as well as the national titles and years hewas named an All-American.

Tebow signed an endorsement deal with Nike before the NFL draft thispast April. The shoes are not yet available for purchase at Nike.com but will be on sale in the coming weeks
