After showing us a dual camera setup on its back earlier today, the HTC M8 appeared yet again. This time around, we get to see the alleged front of the yet to be announced smartphone in a couple of leaked photos. The two images reveal that the upcoming device looks a lot like its predecessor, save for the significantly smaller display bezels and on-screen Android navigation buttons. The latter are said to be removable via a swiping gesture (the photos support this theory, as on one of them, the handset is without on-screen buttons).

We must note that the original source of the photos has already removed them. In our book, this means that we are indeed looking at the real thing.

Alleged specs of the HTC M8 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 5” 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, dual 5MP camera setup, and Sense-d Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The device is tipped to go official in March at an event in New York City.

lawd. Ill be back to htc when the One+ drops

:x :x :x :x

They're keeping the aluminum build right? I hope they fix the overheating issues with this one.

Yeah. At this point you better wait for the M8. I am a little over phablets personally. Mostly because I have to force myself to use any of its features. I would rather have a beast of a cell phone.

just like we forgot about the One when the S4 dropped right ?

Exactly what I thought at first. I feel like the M7 has been the favorite. I don't see how the S5 will be better. It will have crazy features but we all know the truth about those features.

I am not huge on skins but touchwiz is a much tougher swallow

Isn't the new touch wiz supposed to be getting a makeover
Supposed to be, but I think the biggest take away from Samsung's announcement was that they would stop developing apps that are redundant to what the various gapps already do. I'm sure the design style will remain relatively the same, with the addition of a roboto-esque font and less bloatware.

Here's a concept.

I think that M8 picture is fake. I don't buy that the nav buttons disappear. Wouldn't the change in available real estate make the icons shift? If you look at those pictures, the app icon size and placement (in relation to the wallpaper) are identical.

What's up with the capacitive buttons tho?

Just copped that red nexus. Dosent ship out in till the 10th tho

If anybody's looking for a sprint s4 I'm selling mine for the right price

I wanna get it through T-Mobile though... Just paid $450 for the white N5 I'm using now... Don't want to drop another $450
It's actually more expensive to buy it from T-Mo, unless you're getting it subsidized by getting a contract as well...but I don't think they do that for the N5

Last I checked, T-Mo was selling the N5 at $50 more than the play store price.

Depends how it is implemented and if its built into the new Sense. Immersive Mode on custom ROMs does the same thing pretty much... Its possible that someone at HTC saw that and decided to build it in.

I'm also guessing its a Photoshop as well, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out.

Yeah but you can pay it off monthly. If you have the full price just buy it from the play store

I'm in for the M8 if it measures up to what its expected to be. I'm finding that the 5" screen range, is actually ideal for my phone needs over the larger Note series style phones. For me, carrying an oversized phone + small tablet is extremely redundant. Accomplishing work on the Note's screen isnt as easy as I had envisioned either.
