After using this g4,the color saturation on the note 4 looks like garbage. Especially on nt. All around the note 4 can't lose tho.

I've been wondering this for some time now.

Are all stock Android devices destined to have sub par cameras because of the limitations of vanilla Android?

How's your battery life? I've had mine for a little over a week now and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I probably get close to about 3 hours screen-on time but I was expecting more.

It's not Vanilla Android's fault. Google just doesn't make the camera a priority. You have to remember, the Nexus devices are primarily meant to be developer devices with the sole intention of showing off the newest OS.

So take for example Motorola (stock Android with moto tweaks), theoretically they have the capability to make a great camera experience they just haven't until this point?

Or are their shooters destined for mediocrity because of the vanilla?

the camera sensors aren't as good either, so it's a double negative. Vanilla android is boring IMO, I like the android skins from the various OEMS

IMO Motorola will have mediocre cameras because they are a "budget" device.

My curiosity arose from my time using a G2 with a stock rom. The camera which was "good" on the stock LG rom, was beyond awful on stock rom.

So with the purpose of Vanilla being to show off software, will we ever see a stock based device with a top tier camera? Or is that up to the folks at Google?

Did the GPE devices keep the same picture quality of their counterparts?

kind of hard to imagine vanilla Android having "limitations" since everything else is built off it...

nexus 6 camera has performed fairly well. is it the best? dunno. but it's good enough that I don't notice.

I've used a GPE rom on my M7 and didn't notice a difference.

Usually the manufacturer has software tweaks for their specific camera module, which is why you saw the difference in quality.  And yes, sometimes there was a diference in camera quality, among other things, with the GPE devices.  Depends on the manufacturer.  Some manufacturers will bake their tweaks into the GPE software

Aside from the screen "Android System" and "Android OS" seem to be my biggest battery drains. My "Keep Awake" time is also about twice that of my screen-on time. I've already used Access Lock to revoke "Keep Awake" permissions for the majority of my apps. Anyone have any idea as to what is keeping my device awake?

can't speak on all phones, but i took good shots with my nexus 5 when i was in san juan in feb.

i would think its more software than hardware, and it comes down to software optimization. and google can't do that for all phones. just their nexus line. its up to the manufacturer to tune the software to their specific camera hardware.

feel free to check me on this, but thats how i figure the issue plays out..

It was charging for about one hour or more and it went from 69% to 18% in like 10 minutes .... It has also been rebooting itself 5 to 8 times in a row. **** is frustrating.

The g3 is like that. Mine would constantly do it. Try a factory reset. It may help

My friend is on lollipop and his battery drains like crazy. He was at 15 percent with only an hour and a half screen on time
