\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Yeah but I'm not the one that started a debate about cluttered consoles. I'm and I'm not going to ish on American vs euro's or high end luxury but let's call a spade a spade. All cars depreciate , all have useless feature, everybody has a different view of what luxury is, and some people are more prefer luxury over performance , but lets not act so naive. When it comes to debates about cars. 65k will get you a new zl1 and a used aston but at da end of the day you still got a top of the line car. Here's some more contribution

400

I brought up the clutter issue to make the point that the "luxury" cars don't come with any features that you can't get in a muscle car. It just appears that way because of the difference in design. Unless I'm missing something major.

Some people actually prefer the less complicated design, myself included.

On that point, many people prefer less complicated cars in general. I know that several years down the road I won't be plagued by obscure issues poppin up, which is a huge plus to me. Not even talking about maintenance costs, just the added pain in the *!$ that tends to come with these types of cars

A friend of mine couldn't open the fuel door on her Beamer because of some issue with the power locks, and the manual release option broke the first time we tried to use it.:smh:
Ended up being quite a nuisance, one that I'm glad ill never have to bother with

Besides Benz S/SL/CL class i agree for the most part... the Magic Sky somethinganother roof is badass... and there are definitely more safety features as well... Muscle cars can't park themselves either... not that i care about that stuff...

I drove an E class and 5 series pretty frequently when I lived with my parents. Such a pain in the ***** to actually drive, cause everything is electronic. Can't do anything in the E class without pressing 2-3 different buttons. Nice to ride in though just cause of the space. Nothing fancy about them really, just a @#$% load of wood grain and buttons

Are cooled seats, electric fuel doors, fancy cup holders, etc really what can make a ***** not want a car? All I need is leather and a sunroof, all that extra **** is cool buy not necessary.

I dont even like sun roofs, da less complicated da

Better..way less **** that can go wrong later.

Bingo...& performance doesnt depreciate and

become obsolete like "luxury" features.

All cars depreciate.

Tell that to supra owners....

So what's luxury to people ? Because luxury to me is rolls , Bentley , s class Mercedes , 7 series, astons, and a few , I don't view Infiniti , Acura , and Lexus and even the starter BMW or Mercedes luxury . It's like going from
Chaps, to polo , to purple label and finally made to measure. What's every bodies luxury standards begin at ?

Luxury features to me are things that you don't get in cars usually in their basic package, or cars that come standard with features that are deemed "upgrades" in other cars.

So leather seats, moon/sunroof, heated seats/steering wheel, rear view camera, navigation, power seats, satellite radio, raodside assistance, etc etc. Thats not stock in all cars. So if a car comes stock with those things in its basic form, thats a luxury car. And those are usually the Bimmers, Benz's, Cadillacs, etc etc.

But theres a jaded line people cross these days. For some reason people don't know the difference between a Sports car, a Luxury coupe, and a Super car.

Your 328i ain't a sports car pleighboii. Its a luxury coupe.
Your Camaro ain't a luxury coupe, its a sports car.
And neither of which are Lamborghini's.

So people need to stop comparing them like they're the same thing.

Each car has its own purpose for different people. Financially, and taste wise.

These "luxury" car interiors give blowjobs the way y'all hype them up.

I need a comfortable seat, hands free Bluetooth and leather. Muscle or not you can get that pretty easy in any new car.

I need to know what extra I'm getting in a luxury car that isn't available in pretty much any new car.

Yup

I see these Euros with a million different buttons/"features" all over the place and wonder how a car could need so many, especially since so much can be compressed into a touchscreen nowadays.

You can't tell me that DB9 console doesn't look a bit unnecessarily overdone,as is the case with most European cars, which is done to cater to the type of people that like that style of autos. Fancy Aesthetics is part of that segments whole marketing game. Not the case with the muscle style cars, they're appealing to a different part of the human psyche

They gotta throw all that **** in there to make you pay that price tag homie. I'm a minimalist. I don't need all that extra **** to overcompensate. I got family members with Mercedes, BMW's, Audi's, etc etc, and don't even use all that ****. But they got it... Cause its luxury

Mind you, they got the car for looks, and not for the gadgetry. But still... Sometimes that extra **** is pointless.

sti and evo hold their value pretty damn well..

Because they are awesome cars.

Awesome cars will always hold their value but these fru-fru "luxury" cars that keep getting propped up plummet in value.

They ain't my cup of tea but any car that goes that fast without costing an arm and a leg I gotta respect it.

Ain't no useless bell and whistles in those cars either.

you guys have to understand that luxury brands come out with technology that trickles down to the other brands eventually. stuff like radar cruise control (automatically adjusts your cars speed depending on how close or far you are from the car in front of you) will eventually be in all cars I'm sure, but it was first put in a Mercedes in 2000. I had my sister's brand new Toyota for senior year of high school when she couldn't take it to college. it was the most basic car, but it got the job done. fast forward to now and I could never go back to such a basic car. once you learn how to use everything, you'll realize it's not complicated at all and you won't be able to live without the stuff.

If only the Evo and sti came with 2 doors and no spoiler, I'd be all over them :smh: Can't stand that 2001 F&F look. I know the Evo has a spoiler less version, but it just looks like a generic Japanese sedan.

true.. but thats why they are made like that.. sedans that haul ***.. pack the family then later go canyon ripping.. i dont like the big spoilers either... but unlike some of the F&F movies these ones are factory and serve a purpose...
another car that seem to hold their value pretty good are the LS460.. i been wanting one for a while but the price has never been to where i want it at.. plus toyota/lexus runs forever..

Exxxactly, and I like that Dodge stuck to the cars roots by not manicuring the insides to appease......the "luxury" muscle car demographic

Im sure they could easily offer some kinda upgraded interior option, but I'd pass on that even if they did

....I know you killin it in the OC with that

Idk why everybody is grilling ninja. You need to own a car to be knowledgable about them? Not necessarily.

If you're buying a ZL1 and are complaining about the interior, I have to assume you are a woman.

chevy tried all that luxury Interior crap on the early 80's camaros. Remember how well that turned out?
Camaro Berlinetta....

700

yes, this is exactly the camaro I was talking about. Just couldn't exactly remember the name.

Those are cars that depreciate da LEAST w/ a hemi.

And if u keep it long enough it will sell for MORE

Then what u paid for...

Stop getting mad that im checkin on on your broad

*** statements about car depreciation.

show me one that cost more than what it was orginally worth

..not an old school either.

Oh we making rules now  @ not a old school

U already conceded defeat saying that.

Even if you bought an American muscle car in the 60's or 70's, kept it stock, stored it, and got lucky that its actually a highly sought after model now, it would still be one of the worst investments possible. If you had the money to just buy a car outright, and not drive it...... why would anybody do that, you realize after inflation, storage space, and upkeep you'd still be taking a loss? Just makes no sense.

well, my uncle didn't purchase it because he was going to make money off of it, or because he liked it. Mainly he bought it because he was drunk. A few years ago maybe 4 he bought a 100% original '68 convertible RS Camaro. He paid something like 28k for it. Granted it's only got the 327 in it, he could most definitely sell it for A LOT more than he paid.

People hating on the ZL1 now?

That car is too raw.

Blacked out ZL1
