Every car ive had until now has had tint. I knew i would be driving around 3rd Ward, 5th Ward, Greenspoint, Alief and Haverstock Apartments in Houston daily for work. I knew I would be putting 20's on it. So, I never got it tinted. Tint on a nice car will most def get a second look from the cops and the jackers. Eventhough tint is almost mandatory in Houston, i didnt want the added attention. I damn near ran a stop light with a cop behind me. I stopped in he cross walk and reversed back. Im positive he would have pulled me over if my windows were tinted.

A cop wont pull you over for just tint unless they suspect its illegal tint. As a young black male, in a nice car, with wheels, tint in certain parts of Houston will get you pulled over because in that area your chances finding something in the car are higher. A cop might not let me slide for failure to signal if im sitting behind tint. No tint shows you have nothing to hide. Cop aint gone waste their time on just a failure to signal. If a cop pulls you over for failure to signal they think they could find something else.

tints, no front plate and my back plates have a smoke cover and I've never had a problem :nthat: And I drive all over NJ/NYC

Speaking of profiling, I felt like the cops were profiling me cuz of my car when I got pulled over a couple weeks ago.

I've been pulled over a few times in the civic.

But when I got pulled over in the rex a couple weeks ago, they behaved strangely. They had a second cop come out with flashlights. The second cop was scoping the interior with said flashlight while the first cop fed me some really weird line of questioning. The scrutiny was such that I was never happier to be Asian than on that night. Honestly felt that if I was black/latino they would've asked me to step outside lol

Pretty sure I'd invite extra trouble for tinting the rex. And I still need that radar detector lol

i want to get tint because of sun and sometimes on late night drives w/ gf, i wanna pull up in an empty park and ride and get them guts :pimp:...

No different than people that gaze at beautiful car's exterior. But in this case s class interior > s class exterior. Obviously most normal people like looking at beautiful things :lol:
 
Been rollin with 5% on my whip for the longest. About to get 5% on my new whip.

Only been stopped once
 
Been thinking about tints for some time now. Any of you Cali guys get your fronts done without getting hit by da law? I have 35% all around in mind
 
I love 35% tinttint, imo it's the cleanest and classiest.

Not a fan of anything darker, it just takes away from the vehicle

One of my friends recently asked me the same thing about why I don't have tint on my windows :lol:

1. With cheaper and most average cars, I do believe they look better with tint. However, higher priced cars with beautiful interiors definitely look better IMO with little or no tint on. I love passing by s-classes, 7series and other cars of that caliber and getting a peak at the beautiful leather and wood in the car. With tint on them, not being able to view the quality interior, personally I wouldn't pay much attention to the car considering their exterior is really just much bigger versions of the c class & 3 series plus additional details.

2. I somewhat agree with you on that. However, there is a tint on the market that is almost clear with great reflective qualities that helps protect you and your interior. I forgot the name of it but it seems pretty popular on the s class section of wbworld. It is a tad bit pricey though compared to traditional tint.

3. I don't mind people seeing me and my interior is immaculate so that doesn't really bother me. If I could afford an SL I would probably drive it strictly with the top off :lol:

It's just different stokes for different folks.

Don't want to stereotype people by how dark their tint is but when I'm driving I have noticed most people (not all) with dark tint on their windows tend to drive more reckless than people with no tint. I assume it's has to do with feeling anonymous. Every time someone wants me to race them they're always hiding behind dark tint :smh: :lol:. I'm not going to race anyone I can't see. I don't want to race an 80yo great grandma. Plus I don't condone street racing and my car isn't fast lol

This place does tint that isn't black at all but rejects more heat then traditional ceramic tint. It's 4x as much as traditional tint since they use nano tech but worth it. This is what I want on my car.

All depends on where you live..

I got pulled over just for tint in a new car without plates in CA.

Have 20% tint. Been pulled over once when my whip was brand new. Luckily haven't had any other run ins. Just roll down the windows when I see/feel a Cop.
 
I live in LA (bald and Hispanic if that matters) I got 20% all over. Never been pulled over for tint! Also not blasting my music out the window doing 65 in a 25 or hanging out at 3 AM on Friday or Saturday night
 
Like I said, some people have bad luck. wrong place wrong time and the cop being a ****, but others just asked for it
