\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Sounds like you nearly walked into a nightmare.

I hate to say it, but most of the people that buy these cars, abuse the **** out of them. Granted, it was a 2.5RS and it is pretty old so you'll have problems regardless.

If you can't get it for relatively cheap, with a clean title so you can replace anything that needs replacing, I wouldn't even bother.

If you're going to buy a used STi, know what you're getting into and if you plan on replacing a whole bunch of things anyway and have the time to do the work yourself then it's not so bad. But 50+k mile WRX/STi's are just a ticking time bomb. And they hold their value really well so it's hard to find a good deal. Your best bet is to find a relatively low mileage one and get a ppi.

Parts aren't crazy expensive anyway, if you're staying OEM or going aftermarket. It's when you start looking for big power is when things get kind of pricey. The potential is definitely there, but it just comes down to how much are you willing to put into her.
right.

I'm all for stock and most likely get a loan on it. Not looking to adding any aftermarket parts until I get a house with a garage, if anything, it would be an exhaust system.

Yeah, finding one is a challenge and for sure they are beat to near death when they are posted up for sale. Thankfully, I have some knowledge on how to look, where to look and how the motor should sound and feel when actually inspecting one. Thanks your insight tho, it'll be clutch for when the time comes.
But yeah, all stock for me and nothing else. I'll probably be patient and just stack for a brand new one and get a beater in the mean time. Can't wait tho.

Because the Evo 10 sucked almost as bad as an STI,  AND they made it for way too many years (From 2008 to 2016). Those 2 factors added up to poor sales of the Evo
hahahahahahahaha almost as bad as an STI. Meanwhile STI continues to sell at a sky rocketing rate. Evo was great while it lasted, maybe Mitsubishi revealed too much and they're stumped. Sti beating Evo at their own game, even with their looks.

My manager who had an Evo X GSR, said Subaru copied the look and she didn't feel that it was a good decision that subaru went with copying the look. 8 months later, they sold their GSR after only putting in 18k miles on the odo, she said, "Abe, I seen the new STI in pearl white and it was beautiful."

I thought to myself and said, "You saw the truth." Lol

Evo 8/9 > 10 all day

Definitely sounds like you know what you're doing so you should be fine. :smokin

And couldn't agree more, patience is extremely important when considering a car purchase.
in the mean time, keep motivating me with those STI pics. New pics are appreciated. Ha ha If I need help, I'll be sure to hollar at you, brethren.

Damn. Joint is looking ill there. :smokin

My boy copped an Evo 8 as a side project from his WRX hatch. Wonder how thats gonna go...

Hows your suspension btw with these terrible NYC roads? You find yourself dodging bumpy roads and/or slowing down a lot? Or if you go over rocky roads do you really feel it?

Hes a mechanic so hes good.

Yesh I know you in NJ but that drunk story in NYC had me rolling. Roads there are probably way better cause some of these NYC streets and my stiff coilovers are a pain in combination. I can feel everything.

I mostly drive in long island cuz that's where I live at and roads are generally not a problem for my wrx

In queens though, when I was on my 18 inch rims and summer tires :x Some roads were a pain

Now that I'm on smaller rims and winter tires, every bump on the road I encounter feels much better. The way that my wrx absorbs the road right now kinda reminds me of my civic.

Speaking of this, someone in Oklahoma called and offered us cash for the 240z drag car we have that is technically street legal and registered here in CA, wonder if that thing will end up on Street Outlaws

of course. He's always throwing the word "stock" around on those 9 second sti's which is kinda funny
Word, I mean if you want to get really technical doing anything even as small as putting on an aftermarket exhaust is making the car not stock.

Then when you start putting turbos on there the size of soccer balls
