Well technically he did make it to the NBA, but technically he didnt for not playing a game in the regular season.
He is not a figure in the Asian-American demographic. Im Filipino and no one ever her on the east coast cares about him being an Asian who made it to the NBA. He's just another baller. Everyone gotta make this a racial thing.

^^^I mean he kinda is...I think it's looked at more in terms of he's the first true ABC, or AB-Asian to be politically correct, to play in the L...that's the way I see it, and good for the kid. I'm not gonna go out and say hes Jackie and all
but kid def pulls his weight terms of racial impact

Maybe because many Filipino people think they are "Pacific-Islanders" and NOT "Asians."

If you're out on the West Coast I think you'd understand...there's a very large Chinese and Taiwanese-American demographic in the Bay Area (Silicon Valley area)

Warriors aren't cutting him. I don't think he's that bad, but I don't expect him to get any minutes in the regular season unless the team is plagued with as many injuries as they had last year. He'll be on the team, you have to be at the arena to just understand what I'm going to say. He brings in people, he sells merchandise, and he doesn't even play. Why would you get rid of an asset like that?

no didnt think so. yes theyre in the continent of asia but they fall in the category of middle eastern. same thing with the filipinos. the country may be in asia but theyre pacific islanders.
just my 2 cents.

The Warriors have Filipino Heritage Appreciation game and a separate Asian Heritage Appreciation game.
