Ab-Liva is just a wizard with words, would love to hear an EP with just him and Push with Pharrell on the boards

To be fair, only Hov or Push could've rapped about being Avon without coming off as a fraud. So I guess he was first out of two people.
True. Either way it would've held it's substance, and we know it isn't just words being rhymed.

"Lets have another look, just get a little closer Rage against the machine...black Zack de la Rocha :x :x

Inside track on a G rap poster, Best D-Boy all I'm missing is a dash difference between me and Hova. :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Alright let me break down a quick review

Favorite tracks

King Push - fantastic opening song. Call me a dreamer, but I imagine someone playing that marching snare down the aisle in a Cathedral. Love the nuances and vocal variations in the beat.

Numbers on the Boards - I'm so glad that this song was popular among most people, because it represents a strange and different type of hip-hop beat. Rather see more of this weird shh than more drill beats. That little Hova sample is so elegant and dramatic.

Hold On - I like this one. Kanye's autotuned moanings fall in the beat a whole lot better, than NEW DAY from WTT for instance, where it's terribly distracting. There's also something I just love about him having his vocals on there, unlisted as a feature.

40 Acres - Dope hook, the kind that I will sing in the car every time. Love hearing Terrence rap over slower, smoother beats, his voice is so piercing.

Pain - I like Future's bit along with the pounding beat. Then of course that got damn Trayvon/Avon line :x

Not really feeling

Suicide - something about the beat just seems amateur and repetitive.

Who I am - Sean's verse is TERRIBLE. That line "exclamation... exclamation!" and the one about "grown *** little boy... nah nah nah" makes me cringe every time.

I would love to know how much Kanye is involved on the beats here... the wiki page has him co-producing on every track with dudes like No ID or Hudson Mohawke ... so did he just co-sign the sound or was he actually in the lab, chopping up samples? It's also interesting how these beats, if they are from him, are more accessible to the general rap fan than Yeezus.

Overall, I'd give him a 7.5/10. Not the AOTY, at least I hope not. If GKMC was last year's rap AOTY, then this is a pale, pale year for rap. GKMC is a hell of a lot better than this. And that's a 7.5 on a real 0-10 scale, not an NBA dunk contest scale where the lowest you can go is a 6. One thing I'd add is that I'm catching myself listening to Danny Brown more than Push right now. "Old" is good.

:x

I love "Who I am". The beat sounds so menacing like a bad guys theme song. And I thought Sean ripped it! :wow: I like the "grown *** little boy line" :wow:

From that bigghost review:

9. Who I Am (feat. 2 Chainz & Big Sean) – This beat tough. Like this **** might gon put some holes in the walls at my crib if I dont turn it down right now. Got damn yo… But after Pusha spit his little short *** verse n a hook 2 Chainz comes in n lowers the lyrical bar for a minute. Next up is Sean doin his Big Sean “I cant find the beat” thing. Ionno who taught son how to rap but he need to talk to em cuz they missed some fundamental **** there yo. Its like ****** might kno how to drive but they got one foot on the brake n one foot on the gas pedal. This jus basic **** son. But he part of the Def Jam/GOOD music family so somebody hadda been lookin out for dude n threw son on the album anyways. I aint sayin son CANT rap…but what they might coulda did for this particular track after they heard how lost n bewildered that ***** sounded was drop the beat out n let his part be some acappella ****. I still ***** wit it tho.
