Any Beatles fans on NT?

I love my metal but The Beatles are my favorites.
I'm proud to say I own original vinyls of Revolver, Sgt. Peppers x2, and Help! x3, and Rubber Soul and With The Beatles

Oasis > Beatles

The British say so themselves.

No they don't

....I love Oasis, but they are not better than The Beatles ....not even Liam would say that.

I know Liam wouldn't say that. They're huge Beatles fans. But the fact is that it's an Oasis album that's been named the greatest album ever over any Beatles album in the UK.

The Beatles are universally regarded as the best and most influential band in the history of music. You cant just name one list or survey as proof that Oasis is better when there are bunch of other lists that say otherwise.

Almost every music list ranks the Beatles as a top 5 band all time. You'd be hard pressed to find more than few lists that name Oasis as even a top 20 band all time. And I like Oasis but they are so derivative its not even funny.

For those looking to get into their music, start from the beginning of their catalog and just proceed chronologically, to be able to see the transformation they make between albums gives you a deeper appreciation for the band.

I have them as my #1, but there is a large group of people that say the Beach Boys are more influential.
Also, there are tons of simple music fans who automatically call the Beatles #1 GOAT after hearing Yesterday and Let it Be from their mom's car stereo when they were kids. Folks gotta dig deeper, the Beatles almost winning by default nowadays.

I've actually been dedicating time into their discography. Song writing is amazing.

side note from the previous page, Oasis is my personal favorite band.

you should never feel like you HAVE to like anything, the music should speak for itself. ppl have different tastes, but there is a reason why The Beatles are renowned for being one of the best bands EVER, so make sure to give them a fair chance sometime.

abbey road is in my top three albums period and magical mystery tour is sick as well. i only like scattered songs on the other albums, but now that i'm a little older i should probably revisit them soon.

but yeah, i really love the darker side of The Beatles. my personal favorite (i directly borrowed an element from this song and used it on my most recent mixtape, i'm waiting for the day someone finds the connection and shows it to me on their own):

For those just getting into them, start with:

Love (and listen all the way through, it was edited by George Martin, the Beatles' producer, with modern technology for Cirque du Soleil)
1

Both feature their hits and you will certainly catch on quickly. From there move onto their actual studio albums, of which Abbey Road and Revolver are probably my favorites, but it's impossible for me to pick one. Quite frankly, they are ALL good in their own way. I can go from Please Please Me to Let It Be in one day in the office and you feel like you're listening to an entirely different band.

To the guy that said the Beach Boys are more influential: people are referring to Pet Sounds, in particular, when saying that. Catalogue for catalogue, I haven't heard anyone make that argument, not saying it wouldn't be made, but Pet Sounds is far and above the Beach Boys most influential album.

To the person that said the British think Oasis are better: No. I lived in London for almost 2 years of my life and never heard a person say that, and most people were actually sick of Oasis, not to mention they steal a ton of Beatles' chords in their songs. A magazine may have polled that Definitely Maybe is the best album to come out of the UK, but that does not make a band "better" than another, especially when polled by "young" Brits. It actually just makes threads like these more worthwhile for those who haven't been exposed to classic rock.
