--[ TOP GEAR U.K SERIES 24 Started Mar. 6 ]--[The GRAND TOUR ]

The BMW spinout...was that really Jeremy's fault or did he really hydroplane because he hit a high speed?

Also the shots taken at Piers Morgan were hilarious.

^I was wondering the same thing. But I think it is because it hit a high speed. I couldn't help but laugh at captain slow when he was taking shots. Dude spun out the Zonda when it was dry outside and the stig had to finish the video for him

I think it is safe to say it was the Beamers fault. That was Jeremy Clarkson driving

im sayin top gear got dudes around the globe watching hell they even made a US version

They have knockoff versions of that show in so many countries. Fifth Gear, US Top Gear, Aus Top Gear, etc. They even did an episode with the Aussie Top Gear once. If it is so successful even the knockoffs can get high enough numbers for multiple seasons it aint going anywhere soon.

What is that on the right side??? :x

 at thinking Top Gear would be axed. Some people just want the attention so bad.
110,000 on CNN :x

Last time I checked Top Gear was the most watched show on the planet, I believe.

It's not going anywhere, it's only getting bigger every series.

The smart move towards an entertainment program instead of a car program is what's doing it for them. They have women watching in droves now.

Mercedes must be pissed off at that BMW/Benz/VW video. Jeremy thought the car was so pointlessly expensive he didn't even bother to turn it on

He has a point as hatchbacks are supposed to be relatively cheap, Mercedes thinking a person would buy a hatchback for nearly $US90K is ridiculous.

I fully fully agree ^

I saw a CLA45 for like $95k :smh:

I mean really, an entry level sports car at that price is outrageous.

Either way Benz has got to be pissed at being shelved like that.

They can't stay pissed at Jeremy the way he talks up the SLS/SLR, which is a mediocre supercar. Much worse than the 911s he hates. Mercedes should just stick to luxury.

They were probably hoping to sell more A45's and CLA45's than they were SLS/SLR's you feel me?

I'm sure they're not impressed.

felt the episode was too similar to the one where they had to make the commercial for that pos hatchback a few seasons back.

I haven't been on the thread for a few episodes so I have to chime in on the P1 vs. 918 talk. I'm going with the minority here and I'm cheering for the 918!

I deliberate why McLaren hasn't released an official time for the P1's sub-7 minute lap at the Nurburgring. You would think with their celebratory YouTube video which was released weeks ago, we'd have a time by now. My opinion is that they were able to achieve a sub-7 minute time but did not beat the 918's 6:57.

Here's a tidbit about the 918: The 918, which set the record lap at the Nurburgring, was fitted with a modification package which made it lighter than the standard version. McLaren should make some (street legal) modifications to the P1 and MAYBE it will beat the 918's 6:57 time.

All I know is I can't wait for June/July to roll around so they can film the comparison between the P1 and 918.

As for the new episode, I guess good things come to those who wait. I've enjoyed the special thus far and I'm eager for Part 2.

"right so I'm a butler with Parkinson's and I have a gun"

"Why do they have 5 legs in Burma....maybe so it can milk itself"

If anyone wondered why Top Gear does their specials in third-world countries, cue in the image of Jeremy candidly handing out money with no regard for its value. No better method of saying "I'm sorry" than with some paper .

Also, something about this episode had me thinking....These three dudes really do risk their lives (along with thousands of innocent civilians) for our mere entertainment :nerd:

 @ the modifications.

But really, how dangerous are some of their stunts... the crane lifting Jezza's truck could have gone horribly wrong... as well as when Richard's 2nd stack fell off... almost hitting that guy on the bike!   And in general, all the damage they caused!

I definitely think they really prepare for these "stunts". Too many things could go wrong with those trucks. :x

They simply can't get away with all that damage.

James' tent.
