SEATTLE SEAHAWKS THREAD

Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

#Seahawks & Kam Chancellor have negotiated in camp. They offered to pay him $8.1M in 2016, he wants $9M. $900K apart. No change for 2015

Kam Chancellor wants his fines wiped away. #Seahawks haven’t been willing to wave all of the yet. There is a compromise in there somewhere
One of the most popular arguments against the Seahawks ripping up the final three years of safety Kam Chancellor’s contract comes from the basic reality that he’s a box safety, and that the market for box safeties is a lot lower than the market for quarterbacks, cornerbacks, etc.

Earlier in the hour on NFL Network, former Seahawk Michael Robinson, who regularly communicates with Chancellor, floated a potentially compelling argument. Chancellor’s role extends well beyond what he does on the field, operating essentially as an extra coach. For example, Chancellor helps get guys like Marshawn Lynch (who wore Chancellor’s jersey to practice the other day) in the right frame of mind. Chancellor, as Robinson explained it, otherwise does things that would fall onto the shoulders of head coach Pete Carroll.

Unless the Offense miraculously starts early and keeps it going

Everyone's gonna get on Dion for that play but I thought he had a decent game. Don't think Kam would be able to cover that play either dude always gets torched by TEs.....

Dion didn't have a good game, not absolutely terrible either, but it was bad. He was noticeably out of position and people had to line him up a couple of times, he whiffed some tackles and on top of that he gave up the game tying TD.

Game wasn't lost on him, but obviously Kam would've definitely made a difference if he was playing instead of Bailey.

I don't know if I believe this...
John Boyle @johnpboyle

Pete Carroll said that wasn't an onside kick, just miss-hit. #Seahawks
Danny O'Neil @dannyoneil

#Seahawks K Steven Hauschka said he had intended to kick it further downfield. Didn't use the word "pooch" but that's what it sounded like.
