NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Just had Stone Enjoy By 12/25/2015. Pretty good, reminds me of Lagunitas a little bit. I preferred 10/31 a little more but solid beer either way.

Flu had me down all week so couldnt even attempt to go out and get any BC anything.

DM me if you have any extra to offer por favor! :wow: :nerd: :D

Tis the season for one of the better deals. Four bombers of arrogant bastard and variants for $17 at Costco

edit: what the, just read that Arrogant Bastard spun off from Stone? Wot?

Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of the Stone Brewing Co. in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit.

Odd timing. This was news to me as well. I had the "Adopted Arrogant" at Maui Brewing a few days ago. I was told that Stone picked four breweries and let them brew their take on Arrogant.

Haven't had a chance to research it cause I'm still drinking my way through the island.

Popped into my LBS after work because Ballast Point is new to MI and I wanted Grapefruit Sculpin. They haven't received their shipment yet; brew my budget on these things.

BCBS is all over SoCal. I just waked out of my local Ralph's with a bottle. I ended up getting two more bottles last night at Bevmo.
This stuff is everywhere.

Anyone try Sam Adams Utopias? My joint got in two bottles. One to sell via raffle and the only way to get a raffle ticket is to buy a 1oz pour for $20. Once all that bottle is gone, they will pull a ticket for the second to sell for $200. Basically is it worth at least trying? I mean $20 for a 1oz poor of "beer" seems steep  but at the same time I'd like to say I tried it.

:smokin Lagunitas Price point has me by the balls as of recent.. $8.50 on a 8% sucks, and $9 on a seemingly fresh APA Born Yesterday at 6.5%. They have consumed me.

Just recently, I went head to head to head with some stouts.. I talk about Deschutes Obisidian a lot. But it ranked last. Two locals, which arent too common out of my state ranked a bit higher. DO seemed a bit too sweet in smell and all around performance. I think I prefer Ten Fidy for that all around straight forward stout bite.

Stones Xocoveza should be hitting my area any time now. I am saving up and ready to pounce on a case at a moments notice. I am READY!

For now it seems like its discount pours of Sucks. Two and you are set for the night. Bargain value, GOOD QUALITY brews right there... This latest six pack just a week older than Halloween. Old but nearly not quite as old as Born Yesterday. Comparison Ford, I read you got that good stuff the other day and may not make the OH Saturday release.. I doubt that buddy lol :D

RE, availabililty of BCBS, I am never out enough at random spots to call or check. I am just either there, or not. It's cool that its still circulating, and I loved the full 500ml that I had solo (tough to accomplish lol). But seeking it out for the sole purpose of finding it is not an option. If it happens, it happens..

One will make way. One will find a means. Price point at some point has to be a deterrent too. People seem to be dropping upwards of $16 on regular. Limited isnt just limited for no reason. Set your standards straight asap

That's that hustle... I went to the Sam Adams brewery a couple years ago and saw the bottle for it and got schooled on the Utopia. I still have yet to try it though. Considering the markups on those, $20 per oz seems to be decent. I think there's 24 oz in a bottle so it's only a little "above retail" but you get to try it.

Just had Regal Rye and BCBS '15 on tap at a local restaurant. Regal is awesome. Really, really good. BCBS was good also but a bit hot. May need some time to sit.

Damn 1 bottle limit but I finally found it

1000
1 12oz bottle limit?!?!
Xoco 6ers are sitting in my local Total WIne.

Had Regal Rye and BCBS '15 on tap last night at a local bar. Regal was delicious. Nice sweetness and a very faint saltiness to cut the sweetness.
BCBS was a bit hot. I think this is going to have a sit a minute.

It's a struggle out here in Philly man

I convinced her to let me get 2

Went looking for Xocoveza.. No sighting yet. If by the 14th I can't find anything, I may need some help from a NT trade partner

Today until the 13th TW has a $1 off 4 or 6 packs. Looks like I'm staying in for the weekend

-FBS looks to be selling quite well. It looks like I may have gotten the last two sixers. Priced at $8 with the discount, that's a bargain. Backwoods is just sitting on the lowest possible shelf in the seasonal aisle.
- Sucks is sucking me back in. $7.50/sixer. I thought 30 days was fresh when I last got some. New batch is in and its just 18 days old :x . Before the past month, It seemed like all I could find was really old bombers. Then some sixers started rolling in at two months old. It just gets fresher and fresher :smokin
-Replenishing my ten fidy cache. This one dated back to mid August. Not sure if this one is a seasonal or not. $13/four pack.
-Probably the worst thing value wise may be the worst tasting. Dos Equis. $11/12 pack
- Can't leave a store without some somewhat fresh elevated ipa. $7.50/four pack.

Compare that to a days out at the brewery dropping $5/pint, and I think I did alright. Value and quantity can coexist. What are yall getting down with this weekend?

EDIT: Xocoveza just my hit local store :smh:. I may just log off the internet for awhile at this spending rate. I'll see what I can acquire :smokin

Welp.

Again I'll say. I don't play games with stuff I genuinely love. Price point is killer considering I bought about 9 bombers last year. I'm basically getting 44% more beer this year with the bomber to sixer price change. That savings is going right back into buying more. One store also got in a half case of old bombers. Worth a retry and side by side.

No case discounts. But bought in bulk regardless. $16/sixer at one place. $17/sixer at another.

It's a 44% discount compared to $9/22 oz. bombers last year. If we paid bomber prices for this 72oz. bomber quantity this year, we would be paying $29.50/sixer

People hate doing math. I live by it at the beer store.

They're basically paying me $12/PER SIXER to use that to buy more beer, which in turn ends up being about 190 ounces, or 8 bombers FREE. I bought 9 bombers last year. So this was a no brainer.

I bought 9 bombers last year, costing me $81. For that same cost, I'm getting 145 ounces for free, which is nearly two sixers :smokin.

198 ounces at $81 bucks last year. vs. 343 ounces this year.

Edit: Don't drink and try math. My numbers may be a touch off.

People see $17 vs. $9 as stable figures. But you are essentially paying DOUBLE for triple the quanity. Or likewise, you are paying Half for 1/3rd of the quantity. At some point, bombers just suck in general. There is nothing good about bombers > $8... EVER..

Wally hitting us with the math! I have a few more bottles of Xoco left. Definitely need to re-up soon!

I went into my joint last night to grab another BCS and left at about $80 for other ****. One being another 6er of Xoco. They even had one more but I let it be. If I go back and it's there, I'm taking it

Grabbed a Revolution Bean Jean, Begyle Imperial Pajamas 2015, 20th Anniversary Hinterland Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, and for some reason I wanted to try Goose Island Winter Ale.

My collection is small compared to you/all but it's getting sort of out of control. I can't drink/keep up with what I have as I keep buying **** to drink. I told myself several times to stop buying and just drink what I have but I don't listen to me.

Has anyone done the math for what they have spent in beer for the past year? I did and it sort of makes me sick and I feel like I'm on the lower end of people here which will then make me feel better about myself! Hahaha!

about to see what this nelson is talking about..

i had enjoy by 12-25 yesterday and it was life changing, soooooo good

Woohoo! I cant wait for my brother to get home from Rhode Island. He got me 3 bottles of BCBS Stout, 3 bottles of BCBS Barleywine, and 3 bottles 2014 BCBS Stout. The place he went to said RI/Mass didnt get the other BCBS beers. So the hunt continues for Coffee, Rare, Regal, and Proprietors'.
