NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

@Meyer23 feeling good in that great Chicago weather

Keeping things going today:

Citra is tasting better than ever and Sand City Southdown is worthy breakfast stout, to say the least.

One of my friends in Brooklyn was nice enough to snag a few bottles of this for me today:

There are few NT'ers whose posts give me the ability to determine their level of sobriety.

Then there's @Meyer23

Man, got me a little headache .
That's what it was too, such a nice day. Started off with some bloody Mary's and then beer with a friend. Then was playing some ball outside with my son. Was a fun day, no doubt. I need some water and the worst part is I need to get a cavity filled at 8:50...

Anyone have access to Northeast IPA's from places like Trillium or Tree House or Lawsons?

Had the day off today so I decided to crack one of these:

Overall it's whatever.  This was the beer that sold out the quickest at the latest can release, but it's really not doing much for me.  You don't get a huge depth of flavor.  You get bourbon, you get some chocolate, and you get a lot of sweetness but that's about it.  It's only 7%, to boot.  When compared to other lower ABV barrel-aged stouts (Velvet Merkin, Central Waters BA Stout), I'd say this leaves a lot to be desired.  Can't win em all, I guess.

Having said that: Make it Rain and Citra are both amazing.

Sunday Morning is definitely worth the price.  This year's vintage is still pretty boozy, but it ages nicely.  It reminds me of a poor man's Bourbon County Coffee.

Anderson Valley Wild Turkey could be a good start if you're not used to the style.  Never had Siren Noire though.

I'd kill to find more. Especially coffee since the only two I got were drain pours. Broke my heart

One of my biggest regrets of last year was overlooking regular Bourbon County in favor of the variants.  Having had all variants other than Proprietor's and Rare, I can confidently say the regular  14.3% version was the best Bourbon County of 2015.  I should've bought cases of it when I had the chance. Very close to what I would consider a "perfect" beer.

My local Total Wine is sitting on cases of BCBS (about 7 cases left as of last weekend). Not sure which ABV version they had though.

Interdasting. I took you for an IPA guy.

I refuse to be pigeon-holed.

I like beer.

BCBS is/was the best beer I've ever had. I haven't had nearly as many as a lot of you guys but i can't find any flaws with BCBS.

I still haven't had it. But honestly im not pressed. I know where to go now for this year's release but I refuse to wait more than 30 minutes.

I don't even necessarily buy into the hype every year but I love it. It's just crazy how it can sit. If I ever came across it, I'd buy as much as I can afford.

Thats the thing. Only year year I waited. NEVER again for any beer. The regular is typically plentiful enough to at least get a couple two/tree bottles which I'm happy with. But I'm always on the hunt for more which this year I got lucky and got a few more.
