NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Damn, I'm jelly seeing all this Xoco out there.

It was hard to come by for me, I couldn't even get a sixer, ended up with a 5-pack cause someone swiped a single at the store.

I'm just gonna have to enjoy the last of my FBS, and even that's getting old now from the September 10 batch.

I have to rescind a comment I made previously in this thread: I talked some smack on Avery's "bigger" beers saying they were sickeningly sweet and boozy.  I split this year's Tweak with a friend about a week and a half ago...god damn it's a good beer.  It's still boozy on the back end, but this year's batch is leaps and bounds ahead of my memory of the year prior.  Such a nice fudge/coffee flavor on this one.  The booze is definitely there on the back end, but for 17.5% this is quite tolerable.  Drinking another right now:

Definitely gonna buy a few more bottles next time I'm at the distributor.

Two dark penance. Is this late to be having one? $3 each I can't complain. This is a coffee bomb. I like it though.

I had that Saturday and it was good as hell. I'm glad I split it as well, though, too.

Dawg you went swimming with sharks? That's on my bucket list.
Yeah man it was absolutely sick. Obv didn't leave the cage so I don't know if I'd call it swimming with them though!

Saw 5-6 different Great Whites. Did a lion walk, safari, paragliding, table mountain (amazing views), and a bunch of other nightlife stuff. Great place to visit.

Yoo I'm late to this thread :nerd:

Bought these a little while ago. There's is absolutely nothing like it. Florida has really stepped in up the lasts couple of years. Love going to Funky Buddah brewery, food inside is great too

Tonight's tries. Wouldn't recommend the Twenty Five. IMO it tasted waters down and bland.

New Glarus Coffee Stout was solid. A lot of coffee and came thru pretty strong. Tastes better as it warmed up.

By Udder Means was super good. Have to get more. Thick but smooth and not sweet.

Mango Even Keel: undecided. Starts as an IPA to me which I can't stand but finishes smooth and clean. The Mango so so good but I personally can't get over the initial taste. Maybe I'll try it again when it warms up. Seems like something I could get used too especially in the summer time.

sreggie101, let me know what you think. I got a vacation planned out there this summer. That's probably 5 miles from where I'll be staying. Heard the lines and truck chasing can be quite hectic at alot of those places. I heard Tree House is building a whole new brewery. I speculate $15+ million privately funded. Great beer is big business. But it can also be a hassle. Been reading that some OH can releases have lines up to 3 hours. I know you, Cford, have mentioned it once or twice. This will be a whole new era of brewery tours, brewery crawling, and beer seeking compared to my last time out there.

I'm not really used to waiting in lines or truck chasing. I can go to a local store and find some IPA gems at will. Brewing News has this National IPA, session, DIPA bracket challenge they've been doing for years. http://brackets.brewingnews.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=462020&tclass=National IPA Championship 2016
My local brewery is trying to repeat. They face Lawson's Triple Play IPA, after having just beat Fat Heads Head Hunter. We shall see.. That beer, Scale Tipper, releases again in bombers Friday. So I don't exactly feel like waiting in line 3 hours on my vacation for comparable beer to my region. The appeal of trying something "great" has me by the balls most times

I said it before, lol, I'm finally slowing down on weekdays. It's so easy to get out of work and have 2-3 beers/night. I'm trying to fine tune that to weekends only. Excessive calorie intact has been a problem for me (weight gain). Wish me luck :D. It's mainly those empty calorie, late night, dessert type beers post dinner that do me in.. Also trying to ween off sodas. Two weeks in, I'm doing a solid job

Chopper, I doubt you were there for the beer at all(I was out in Spain in 2010 and enjoyed myself, and tried a ton of very average gas station selection brews new to me, but never exclusively seeked anything out). Anything worth while? Comparable to the states? etc... Hoppy beers seem to be slowly moving into Europe (where dry hopped pilsners and such are taking over/trying to be unique and bring in new people). Anything like that in SA?

the food here is off the wall good :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:. breakfast here is OFFICIAL. get the bear breakfast sandwich, your welcome. then hit their basement for that craft beer selection.

lawson's sip of sunshine is :pimp: :pimp: and i think easier to get a hold of than heady. (neither are sold at the aforementioned store)

No man nothing worth seeking. I'd take a Two Hearted every day of the year over anything I tried there. It was still a treat to find IPA's and Pale Ale's though, and most were tasty, but nothing to write home about.

The Cape Brewing Company brewery was awesome though and had really good food - http://capebrewing.co.za/our-brewery/ Def worth checking out if you're ever near Cape Town.

Went to Founders for KBS week on Thursday. They really run a great business up there and Grand Rapids is a nice little town. They were tapping CBS at various times throughout the week and we missed it by about 30 minutes.

I'll try to go back in the future for the party at Founders on Saturday.

Very successful can release at Other Half this morning.  Line wasn't crazy and the weather was great. I got there at 9:00, they opened at 10:00 and I was out by 10:30 with a full allotment and an egg sandwich.  The Bunker collab is drinking great right now:
