NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Yessir. I actually really like it. Nice pronounced grape flavor. It has IPA characteristics in the backbone and the hop flavor. I like it man. I like all of DFH offerings, especially when they put a twist on an IPA. The aprihop was very good. Both of are very drinkable

I was a big fan and I am very picky when it comes to IPA's

DFH is by far the best brewery in the country IMO

Absolutely. Like I said yesterday, any time they come out with something new, I always try it and it's always good. Even when I don't know what to get at the bottle shop and I want something new, DFH is always the go to.

I have yet to come across a bad beer by them. Their Midas Touch is awesome which is what this reminds me of due to the grape flavor.

It's looking like I'm gonna be loaded up with bottles of Bomb! pretty soon.  I put up a FT:ISO post on BeerAdvocate and my inbox blew up so fast hahaha.  I should have at least 10 bottles by next week.

10 bottles :wow: Looks like you'll be all set this winter haha.

Fedex just dropped these bad boys off today. First trade via The Beer Exchange. Pretty smooth process and will probably use again in the future. Haven't tried any of these beers yet so I'm excited.

Damn.  Super jealous of the Zombie Dust, Alpha King, and Hop JuJu.

You win this round, NeoSole.

Punkin Ale and Festina Peche

I have a real DFH neon sign as well
I think I've seen you post that before, it's super dope.

Punkin Ale is awesome. Even though the taste of Night Owl is my favorite, Punkin Ale is overall the better choice by a hair imo. Better session-abiity

Is enjoy by 7/4/14 selling well?

I can't say I have incentive to try it

Avery beer sampling complete. Finally.
Maharaja sadly had a bottle date of February 18th. So about three months old when I got it two weeks back. I tasted a sense of that musky "old" type hop taste that I'm catching out of more bombers than I should be. Solid sweetness not too boozy. But not really anny character of hops that I can recollect

Avery America pilsner can. Apparent can date of 288th day of 2013. So super old. Crisp pilsner taste. Nothing too special. But solid given its age

Avery Ellie brown ale. Probably my favorite of the bunch. 287th day of 2013. Still carbonated and a ton of nice roasted nut flavor. Similar to me to sierra blanca nut brown. Nothing too special.

Great divide claymore scotch ale. Bottled February 14th 2014. Kind of a brown smell and flavor profile. No true scotch flavor like say a founders dirty bastard. Definitely a step below that.

So far a lackluster session.
Sipping on my last velvet Merlin now

I know mahajara is ba scored as a 91. I can't really grade it today.

The others all seem to be mid to high 80 beers if I were to guess.

If anyone wants more la cumbre beers, get at me. They are on a great streak with their current lineup. Very stable QA this last month

Probably is, but the good folks over at BeerAdvocate have been saying the 07.14.14 batch is a step down from the past few batches.  I'll probably buy one if I see it, but I haven't come across any bottles yet.

Thanks man. Looking forward to seeing your haul also.

Probably selling well due to it's previous releases. I thought this batch was sweeter and didn't have that dankness the batches before had.

Night Owl became my fav this year actually because they make it in 6 packs now

7/4 Enjoy By is kinda meh. Paid $5.50/bomber at Costco so I ain't really mad.

Avery is middle of the road to me. At least for the few that I've tried. Maharaja from the tap was a lot better than the bottle I had recently.

Did you have to trade your first-born for that haul Neo? Need some 3F and Surly in my life :smh:

Place I went to didn't have Enjoy By. Can't find it anywhere in the DMV.

All they have is the regular IPA, Arrogant Oak, and Ruinition.

Anybody try Ruinition before? Any good?

Ruination is good.  Just make sure that it's fresh before you buy it.  It's a beer that tends to sit around for awhile (for whatever reason).  I'm pretty sure Stone's "enjoy by" dates on their IPAs are dated 6 months after the date they were bottled on.  Don't quote me on that, though.

Avery's brewery is across town from my office...and they kill it to be honest. I think their year-round offerings are great, especially White Rascal and Joe's American Pilsner. But their limited barrel-aged and big bottles like Maharaja are great too.

But where they really, really shine is their taproom-only stuff. Lilikoi Kepolo (White Rascal with passion fruit), Boulder Weisse (barrel-aged Berliner Weisse), coffee stout made with locally-roasted coffee, and on and on. These taproom-only beers are always crazy good.

If you make it to Boulder, stop in for sure. But then again, there's approximately elebenty kabillion insanely great breweries around here.

Surly Furious is one of my faves. Love that stuff.

Man head hunter and hop juju are amazing!

I've been fighting this damn traveler's stomach for almost a week, after coming back from Cancun, and havent had a beer in almost 2 weeks now! I am salivating at the chance to getting back to whats in the fridge.

They sell it all over the place here... I bought my last Enjoy By from Red Apron Butcher in Merrifield, VA... But use this site and call the closest to you to verify. It's pretty accurate.

Repped. I'll take a look at it after work since the site is blocked. Hopefully there is a place near Columbia, I'm eager to try Enjoy By since it's towards the top of BeerAdvocates list of IPAs.

Which is weird because each batch is different right?

Actually the opposite. Every batch is supposed to be the same (or close to it). Same recipe anyways.
Brewing is such a tricky process that I think there are bound to be slight variances batch to batch, but Stone says it's the same recipe each time.

Headhunter is awesome, had the wife pick up a case when she went to Pittsburgh, did not dissapoint. Can't wait to try juju next year when they release again.

Have a couple of nice Vermont stuff coming in soon, anyone try the Triple Sunshine by Lawsons? Looking forward to that as i've only heard good things.
