NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Complete shot in the dark, but does anyone know any good beer spots in Toronto?
Going next month for work and I've talked to coworkers that have gone and said the craft beer scene in Canada is lacking.
One coworker SWORE that there was not an IPA to be found in the entire damned country.

400

I thought the ship had sailed on stickee monkee but I walked into a new shop today and they had 2 cases come in today. Picked up 2 bottles and they had it on tap as well!

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm kind of bummed that they stopped doing waxed tops on Bomb!.  Obviously doesn't take away from the beer itself, but a waxed top just makes it look so damn fancy.

Download the newest episode of Beer Sessions Radio from iTunes. Coincidentally, they had a guy on who owned a beer bar there and was mentioning several spots to check out.

I was driving while I listened, so I didn't write anything down/remember any specifically.

Went to two spots today to try and find Enjoy By and neither had it. And now I come back here to see that map, just my luck...

Grabbed a 6-pack of Flower Power though, can't go wrong with that.

^ Nice pickups. Gotta scour around SD for some Prairie.

Some brief news on a pair of upcoming Stone Brewing Co. beer releases…

First, a release date has been set for Beachwood / Heretic / Stone Unapologetic IPA, according to company marketing materials. The beer will ship next week with an intended launch date of June 30th. More on the beer below…

When you get three hopheads together to collaborate on a beer, it’s only natural to expect some hopped up liquid incarnation of their lupulin lust to spring forth from such a session. Maybe it seems passé to some—three masters of hoppy beer once again exploring the familiar territory of the India pale ale. After all, who needs yet another IPA, double or otherwise, right? It’s all been done. To those who feel this way, this trio’s reply is: “So what?” In birthing a double IPA made bitter and fruity care of a mélange of new and experimental hops (Azacca, Belma, and yet-to-be-named varieties from Washington’s Yakima Valley), they aren’t staying in a comfort zone—they’re hitting a sweet spot in the name of all that is good, delicious, hoppy and forward-thinking to create an IPA that’s both like and unlike anything they, or you, have ever tasted. Rife with essence of pine, resin, and fruits both citrus and tropical, there’s no need for apologies with this beer. All that’s necessary is a yearning for hops, a sturdy constitution and an empty glass.

Hops bill: Belma, HBC342, Azzaca, and Steiner 06300
Packaging: 22oz bottles and draft
Stats: 9% ABV / 90-100 IBUs

Also coming this summer is Stone Coffee Milk Stout, previously known as Gallagher’s After Dinner Stout at Liberty Station. The beer will replace Stone Saison in the seasonal six-pack rotation on August 4th. Marketing copy below…

There’s no shortage of talented people at Stone and each makes their presence known in their own unique way. Brian Gallagher, a brewer who learned the art of fermentation in the UK, used the beer you now hold, a New World take on a traditional Enlgish milk stout, as his vehicle for personal expression. Originally brewed as a limited-edition offering at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, this coffee-laced milk stout quickly became a favorite among Gallagher’s peers. Made bittwersweet and creamy while remaining smooth and easy-drinking thanks to the addition of milk surgar, it’s clear why this is a brew we needed to share with fans everywhere.

Estimated at 4.2% ABV but subject to change.

Stone keeps getting better and better :pimp:

A lot of Stone's collabs hasn't been all that great, but Beachwood x Heretic x Stone can't be anything less than amazing.

Coffee milk stout? Available in a sixer?!? :x :pimp:

I had a little too much fun the other night. But I'm back on it.

Finally spotted some Santa Fe Freestyle Pilsner, some 6 weeks after initial "release", just 50 miles south of the brewery... Craziness. I also went with a Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout. I had some on draft the other weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee element. After having some better coffee stouts, I can say this one is right up there. (had to get another elevated IPA. It drinks way too easily in the heat.)

RE the stone milk stout. I dont know off hand skaa's milk stout, or left hands, But I think they are in the 5-6% range. They are thinner mouthfeels but have a creaminess and sweetness element that is well hidden.. At 4.2%, expectations have to be quite low.

Eck. I bought some upslope pale ale and Ipa while was I phx a couple weeks back.

Drank one of each for happy hour. Both very plain. One labeled crisp clear dry. Very plain. Although the Abv of 5.8 was undetectable. Kind of flavorless. Ba score guess is 79. Ipa was labeled something something bold. 7.2%. Same kind of ehh. Ba guess 81

More trade goodies (4 more bottles of Bomb!):

So far I've had nothing but awesome experiences trading on BeerAdvocate.  Everyone's been really nice, generous, and on-the-ball about getting stuff shipped out in a reasonable time frame.  Good people, I tell ya.

Nice haul man. On the hunt for some Mexican Cake myself.

Picked up a few items today. FW Double DBA and Lost Abbey Teku glass. My local spot sold the last bottle of Velvet Merkin as I walked in :smh:. I've been on antibiotics for the past 3 days so it pains me everytime I open my fridge

Fedex and UPS must love you all with the number of trades you guys are doing on a regular basis.

Nice teku glass neo. Been looking for one.....even though i have more beer glasses than I can count.

I don't know if I'd call it "regular," but I definitely went on a large trading spree in the past week.  Got another 4 bottles of Bomb! coming in and then I'm done for awhile.

Awesome pickup on the Double DBA, Neo.  One of my favorite beers ever.

So...yesterday was my birthday so I made my way into Manhattan with some friends.  We hit up an awesome bar/restaurant called The Cannibal. Amazing beer selection and even more amazing food. One of the bartenders was telling me that they sometimes get Hill Farmstead beers on tap

.  I definitely blew my load early by loading up on beer, meat, and cheese...but it was so so so worth it.  Would definitely recommend it to anyone in NYC or visiting NYC.  It's on East 29th Street, so it's not too far from Penn Station.
