Russell Martin isn't nowhere near 80 mil. I think he's a good C but his bat is trash and he can't stay healthy.

Dodgers and Yankees probably have the most money in baseball and neither came close to 90 mil. Guy won't stay healthy and he's only getting older.

If the Sox are still going after Sandoval what position is Hanley gonna play? LF? They have Bogaerts at SS, unless they're looking to trade him as part of a package for starting pitching.

Failed. I've seen this guy get hurt probably more in the box than on the field.
Hanley is willing to play a different position. Maybe they move him.

I like this move for the Red Sox. Obviously it's pretty risky, but it's a risk I'd be willing to take if I had the money to do so.
This move also does make their starting lineup extremely righty heavy with Big Papi being the lone lefty bat.
