Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

So if I'm rady this correctly the place beyond the pines is the same story told from 3 different views with the characters crossing pathes with one another?

Ryan - robber
Cooper - cop
3rd - ????

I would say what the last third is but it would kind of be a spoiler.

Watched The Collection earlier today...I don't really like horror movies, but I watched the first one at my brothers house and it was pretty decent so I figured I would check out the second one...It was pretty good

Watching Road Trip right now for the first time in a while...I forgot how funny this **** was

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, and sorry if it has, but man, I'm so tired of seeing TV spots for Evil Dead.

I see them at least once every half-hour, and it's the same crap.

Don't get me wrong, I was super stoked to see it since the first reviews came in, and I will be there early Friday morning, but I'm just tired of the hype for it.

I was very pleased to see a trailer for Trance earlier though... :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

good to see the guy who did shaun of the dead, scott pilgrim, and hot fuzz is gonna write and direct marvels ant man

Did you see the little teaser for it? It was actually kind of amusing, and considering that was just a test? Awesome.

not really - it's three separate stories that tie together eventually.

I can't stand trailers that are longer than 1:30. The 2 Guns trailer I saw was 3 mins - why not show the whole film...so dumb...trailers are suppose to be teasers, not short films...so many show too many details just annoying.
You must have excellent memory.

I usually forget what was shown in the trailer by the time I watch the movie in theaters.

I usually find movies are pretty bad if long trailers preceded them or if trailers show too much.

I'm pissed the marketing dept share Pepper in the Iron Man suit. Should've kept that one under wraps to surprise the audience. I think a lot of people should take lessons from Chris Nolan on keeping things under wraps & let the audience discover the movie. I have a feeling that Iron Man movie is going to be a piece of **** like #2 was.

I feel you.

I think they're more concerned with showing so much so people buy tickets rather than making an awesome movie.

I remember thinking that Aptow was showing way too many scenes for This Is 40 & the movie was going to suck. It had some funny moments (outside of what wasn't shown), but the movie was so dull. It's a shame because it was a waste of Leslie Mann & Paul Rudd (& the rest of the cast). Aptow & Mann's daughters were hilarious, his older daughter zapping out about not being able to watch the last 2 episodes of Lost  & her boyfriend looking like Tom Petty ...

Fast five and law abiding citizen are nott better movies than schindlers list and Leon the professional lol

Hurt my head with that one

I've started to just say movies are watchable or not. Ratings are just too subjective and i end up hearing i overhyped a movie

If I can recommend it strongly, than that means its really good and worth watching.

I actually hated cast away. His performance was great bit I thought it was terrible and way too "cutesy" for most of it. Doubt I ever watch it again

I didn't really like the ending, but all of the island stuff...I just figured Cast Away was one of those accepted classics.

I like the 1-10 or grade scale. C or higher (7) and you're safe, you might have a redeeming couple of qualities in a 6..anything below and it's watch at your own risk.

iYens ratings are always a bit off to me
