so half of Sons of Anarchy in a American Gundam movie? sure why not

side note, my mom went to university and was friends with Del Toro back in the 70's

My attention span has been killing me the older I get. I been reading 3 books and a few graphic novels for a while.

Finally decided to get back into dune. 5/8 of the way through. Forgot just how creative and intense it is.

Got like 40 pages left in the first book of the star wars Thrawn trilogy. I was shocked by how good it was. They should just film this. No wonder hardcore star wars fans were so pissed with the prequels when so much ready made material was out

Got half of the devil in the white city. I'm not so us how easy it's gonna be to make that movie. That book is an architecture student's wet dream. Some very informative yet dry parts so far. Hard to plow through.

:x They just making an all black Annie.

Why not? They made an all black Wizard of Oz (aka The Wiz), right?

So, can I safety assume, since Will Smith is involved, Willow Smith is playing Annie?
**** always comes off tacky and lame.

Tends to reek of minstrel showesque there should be a "black" version of a predominately white "regular" thing.

Yeah Willow is Annie, that was the first thing announced about it.

I hear you. And I agree its not a good idea. I was just saying that its not unprecedented.

Totally agree. I'm halfway through as well. The parts with Burnham so far have been all about architecture. These two obviously have to cross paths at some point. Interested to see how it plays out.

Intrigued to see if they can pull it off on the big screen.

Watched Iron Man today... going to watch Iron Man 2 before I see Iron Man 3 in IMAX 3D on Thursday. :pimp:

Jeff Bridges looks so much younger in this movie than he does in True Grit, and there's only a 2 year difference. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know in True Grit they made him look older and in Iron Man he's the uber-rich, clean-cut guy. Plus, the character he played is supposed to have all the resources at his disposal to look young, but it was crazy to me.

The one thing I still don't understand is WHY he sold Stark out. He was friends with Stark's father for god knows how many years, stood by his side. Is it just because he wanted power and to be at the top of the company? Seemed out of character for the guy we were led to believe he was, and they never really delved into the why other than "he just sold him out". Or maybe they did and I'm just senile.

Still don't see how Gwyneth Paltrow is fun to look at. Especially don't get how she got voted Most Beautiful Person of 2013 by People or whoever. :smh: :smh:

The special effects in the first Iron Man were spectacular, and the pacing was great as well. In a 2-hour movie, you felt like you were able to see a lot without it being rushed. I mean just think, we saw from the get-go his luxurious life as a playboy philanthropist, a decently long cave scene, him building the suit, offing all the Afghani rebels, accelerating his relationship with Pepper, Bridges/Obidaya being a greedy, obnoxious *****, the fight scene, the ending... ALL in 2 hours without it feeling rushed. :wow:

Loved Stark's assistant in the cave, unfortunate that his character was so short-lived. Christine Brinkley, the reporter, whoever she is

Might have to reevaluate because I'm about to watch Iron Man 2 for the first time in a long while, but Terrence Howard was definitely more suitable for Lt. Rhodes than Don Cheadle.

When you're done, you should watch those Sci-Fi miniseries, Dune and Children of Dune. I remember them being awesome. I think James McAvoy was the star of the 2nd one too.

President Charles Logan is easily the WORST fictional president of all time

Anyone know if Anne Hathaway is working on anything recently?

I know she was just signed on for Chris Nolan's Interstellar.

http://afterthecut.com/2013/04/09/anne-hathaway-joins-christopher-nolans-interstellar/

It’s no secret that Christopher Nolan likes to go to the proverbial same well when it comes to actors in his film. Whether it’s Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCpario or Michael Caine, Nolan likes comfort.

Now as his sci-fi filmInterstellarstarts to take shape he is tapping a familiar face to come on board.

Last week it was confirmed that Matthew McConaughey was cast in the lead of the film, and Nolan is asking Anne Hathaway who played Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises to star opposite McConaughey, according to Deadline.

The story “depicts a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding.” It is described as a “complex and multi-layered” sci-fi picture that follows “explorers [who] travel through a wormhole,” with conceits such as alternate dimensions and time travel working their way in.

No word yet on what role Hathaway will be playing but the trio of Nolan, McConaughey and Hathaway is a hell of a start to hyping this project.

Interstellar begins production this summer and then hits regular theaters and IMAX on November 7th, 2014.

Hathaway is also attached to Steven Spielberg's Sci-fi film Robopocalypse but that is now on hold.

She is also voicing her character again in Rio 2 and starring in a film called Laggies along with Chloe Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell.

I think Kev and Nos will appreciate this....apparently Steven Spielberg's daughter and adopted son made an indie band together called Wardell...

And...they're kinda really good...

I think Anne Hathaway has a bit part in Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut Don Jon starring himself & Scarlett Jo... That movie should be coming out soon. I've read it's pretty good...
