Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Aside from the "normal" Christmas movies, I always have to watch Trading Places during the holidays. There's another one I have to watch also but it's not coming to me... Damn I'm getting old...

even though christmas in hollis is played in die hard and its during christmas i dont see it as a christmas movie.

gremlins ehhhhh i guess it has to do with christmas...moreso so that i consider a christmas movie

my favorite christmas movies are jingle all the way, elf, santa clause the movie, emmet otter jugband christmas, gremlins, national lampoons christmas vacation, Jack Frost(the horror movie not the family movie), Scrooged, and a christmas story...

A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Story, Trading Places, Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, & Elf. My wife loooves Elf...

Home Alones are ok. My son likes 'em...

I forgot all about Jingle all the Way. That's another good one, same for Trading Places. I've had Planes, Trains & Automobiles on my computer since last Christmas but never got around to watching it.

Love Actually is just an overall good movie. I like those British romantic comedies like that and Notting Hill.

Got damn Wes! :roll eyes You gotta watch Planes, Trains, & Automobiles... It's a quintessential John Hughes flick..

It definitely is a great movie. My favorite Christmas movie though is Christmas Vacation, I watch it multiple times during the holiday season

Bought that for my son yesterday on Blu. He watched it last night and was rollin' throughout. I think the squirrel scene was his fav.

I also always watch Christmas Story and Elf around the holidays. My wife likes the old Christmas Carol with George C. Scott. Not a movie, but another must watch for me around the holidays is the OG Grinch cartoon, with Boris Karloff narrating. Pure classic. The Grinch movie with Jim Carrey, not so much.

And, PSK, your good to consider Trading Places a holiday movie. I mean, Winthorp wears a dirty Santa suit. What more do you need?

I have to wait until after Thanksgiving for Christmas movies.

I absolutely love them, though.

I love that whole dumb holiday season. The music, the movies, the decorations... I'm like a little kid.

Same here. Only time I listen to local radio station is the day after Thanksgiving for Christmas music.

LOL. I just discovered today that one of my local stations (and a Sirius station) is already playing holiday music. Gets earlier every year.

One thing I dislike is how December 26th rolls around and the Christmas season is IMMEDIATELY over. The local channel that plays Christmas music switches over at 12:01am I think  and people start taking decorations down and that's it.

I'm still in the Christmas spirit until New Years.

People are already starting up in mid-November, show a little patience

I like all the lights outside and such, but overall I don't like the holidays. I'm not big on get togethers and parties etc.

Every store crowded as hell, traffic, hate it.

Enjoy havin days off from work, and Black Friday nets most of my blu rays every year, but thas about it for me.

Oh, and I HATE the music. Hate it. But I listen to sports talk radio anyways, so its not too rough on me.

FTR, It's A Wonderful Life reigns supreme despite not being specific to any given holiday.

It needs to be over the 26th it's been starting earlier and earlier. I feel like i started seeing Christmas commercials the day after Halloween this year. Don't even wait until thanksgiving is over anymore.

After seeing the trailer to Noah I'm more confused than ever. I have no idea why this specific director is making this movie unless its a giant money grab. I've followed his career for a while and it's an odd choice. It looks like a plain and simple telling of the biblical story we know. I don't think we are getting too many curve balls.

From arinsofsky I would expect it to be about some psycho who hears voices in his head biut i think it's going to be a straight forward adaptation.

I mean... Noah was told by God to build an ark that would save 2 of every animal. Then a flood destroys the world.

It's a pretty crazy story in the first place

You can say the same thing about a lot of stories in the bible.
