Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I did love Chef. Where is The Hunger Games on that list though

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is honestly, probably, more than likely...THE WORST film I've seen all year

LMAO...nice .gif to start my morning.

I really expected it to be this grand, awesome, much bigger budgeted action flick and it was soooooo slow and boring. Biggest let down.

Can't wait to catch Foxcatcher this weekend.

And saw American Sniper last Friday. Enjoyed it very much, Eastwood's best in years. Thought Cooper was really solid, but would I say best of the year? Nope.

finally finished all three hobbit movies, overall ill give it a 6.5/8

only dwarf i liked was the old wise white haired one, everyone else was either forgettable or annoying

bilbo might be my favorite lotr movie character

wish they didnt use as much cgi like the og trilogy

i wouldnt call it a problem, but they way the story is told you kind of have to watch all three movies to get a resolution. fun adventure but the length of all three films combined makes it hard for me to want to rewatch

Sooooo, what was the point of Oldboy?

Hands down full of the worst plot twist I can imagine.

**** was elementary as ****.

Cellular had better twist then this ********!

Im extremely pissed off right now.

so my man imprisoned dude for 20 yrs, created his own tv network, in hopes that he'd **** his own daughter in 48 hours?

What if he didnt hit?

Finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy

Not tryna pull an Antidope but I have to be honest I was underwhelmed.

It was a good movie, but the HYPE was so high from everyone. Family, friends, rotten tomatoes, NT, everyone's been raving about it for months...

Maybe if I would of seen it in theaters with no expectations it would of been better.
I watched it expecting the best movie ever with how high the praise has been universally.

It was just...good.
Good action, good humor here and there, good special effects.
Definitely not s bad movie by any means, it was entertaining.

But I kept waiting for something so spectacular to happen and it never did, just the usual 3rd act of a action flick and a usual ending.

Music was great, seeing my dude Chris Pratt shine is great...but movie just didn't live up to the ASTRONOMICAL hype everyone has been giving it for months.

B movie, maybe B+.
6.5/8 word to rck.
Again, good and entertaining, rocket was funny and there were some nice scenes but I don't understand what made this movie so special that some people went to watch it 6 times

I mean..maybe I'll watch it again for a 2nd time, but what exactly about the movie was so amazing it warrants 5 or 6 watches?:nerd:

this. all of this.

as far as comic movies this year, its cap 2 and the rest follow.

A lot of people like the original. A revenge story filled with some weird ish.

^ like you with Fast and Furious. You missed the boat b.

 I wasn't even going to say anything.

Then again, I haven't met one person outside of NT that's ever hyped up the FF series in any shape or form. Not even be like Zik yo lets go see the new FF movie.

Nah  Never happened. Only been on here by you CP. Everybody else on here has just said they liked it. Most saying they like it cuz it's bad.

From what I remember of the original dude who wanted revenge orchestrated things a bit more closely so that he'd meet his daughter.

However, making you prisoner in an apt for 20 years is a sort of torture in itself. That's your entire youth, no time with your family, etc.

Re-watched The Wolf on Wall Street for the first time since seeing it in theaters.

The scene with Coach Taylor and Leo on the yacht with the helipad is so very good.

Stopped the movie before the final 45 minutes. Downward spiral was my least favorite part of the movie, as necessary as it was to the story.

It's not possible to watch Obvious Child and not fall in Love with Jenny Slate. Endearing as can be, she was.

In regards to the GOTG ... For me it was just OK ... The hype might of have been a factor but I doubt it. All my friends hyped Gone Girl and it delivered and everyone hyped wolf of Wall street and Iit delivered.

Lol that's EXACTLY the same case for me.

I saw both Wolf of Wall Street AND Gone Girl months after it came out, with so much damn hype.

I was thoroughly impressed and entertained with both.

So I guess that makes me feel like GOTG may just be a little overrated in General. The hype just unexplainable for it the last few months, and it came no where near my expectations.

But the hype for Gone Girl and Wolf was incase as well... And months later, they lived up to expectations. Gone girl was actually BETTER to me than I think people said it was, and everyone's said it was great.

So.... Maybe, just maybe people are making GOTG a little better than it really was in their minds?

Or maybe we just all have different tastes, which is most likely.

Guardians was solid. Had characters people liked and the story was pretty good. It had its stupid moments but that was expected.

Agree. Just felt more like an old-time, fun popcorn flick to me than a lot of the other recent Marvel offerings.

I was speaking to someone who had read all the "trilogy," and she said that if any of the books should be split into two movies it would have been Catching Fire. Mockingjay Part I was decent, but it felt more like a prologue more than anything else. The whole concept of propaganda usage during wartime was interesting, but not enough to warrant an entire film.

In regards of DoFP, there are tons of plot holes and the logic doesn't make too much sense. I think the fact that I give time travel movies way too much leniency may be why I give it so many passes. With that said I've seen it several times after its' release and still enjoy it.
