Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The Revenant
6/10 It was visually great but never felt any emotional attachment to anything about the movie. Terrible pacing IMO. Highly disappointed.
Hateful Eight
7/10 (on a QT scale) The first 2 hours were 9/10 but the overall plot twist and ending was trash. Like why was it dragged out like that?
Black Mass
7.5/10 Might be because the reviews kinda of lowered my initial expectations but I think I liked it best out of the three. Nothing ground breaking but I was involved through the whole movie. Good pace.

@ Black Mass being better than the Revenant.

Finished the episode of Young Justice with the Flash and Impulse arc. That story was amazing! All 4 flashs'!

Edit. Wrong thread

I feel bad for Portman. She needs to star in another HUGE film and become an A lister again.

What's funny?
The movie was just a horrible interpretation of the book by Lehr and O'Neill. So many important details left out of the story. Depp was okay as Bulger, but Edgarton wasn't even close to Connolly. The characters were almost cartoonish. A lot of overacting and Boston stereotypes. Pretty sloppy and rushed.

5/8

The revenant sucked , Tom hardy was the only thing interesting about it .

 @ Black Mass being better than the Revenant.

...

Both movies were very good.

Black Mass surprised me because it seemed like it was going where every one of those has gone and didn't. Tom Hardy was the only interesting thing about The Revenant?

What's your favorite movie with a lot of interesting things? Just curious.

That's why I didn't understand the weird #s he was posting.

I probably won't understand anybody that thinks Black Mass is better than TR.

 What? She's still an A-lister. She's the one that won the Oscar for Black Swan.

She just took a break and then went to easier roles since.

Can anyone post the page where Deadpool is discussed?

Just saw the movie but I've been outta the thread for a while, don't know how far back its discussed

The cinematography was amazing in the revenant

Along with the lighting

And the bear attack

4 interesting things

Didn't care for Black Mass much. Someone said it was basically a highlight reel of Bulger's crimes  pretty accurate. I liked Edgerton and Depp in it tho

of all time ? That's a bit vague here's a few from the decade 2010- excluding horror, comedies and romantic films

Inception
The social network
The town
Whiplash
The raid
Sicario
Moneyball
Rush
Captain phillips
Animal kingdom
Margin Call
Fruitvale station
Boyhood
Argo
American sniper
Gone girl
American sniper
Edge of tomorrow
John wick
The imitation game
Mad Max
Drive
"Interesting" is mostly preference so I definitely went too far saying the revenant sucked , the movie was well and acted , the cinematography has been rightfully lauded . But the idea of re watching that movie seems excruciating .

Black mass was ok , it's pretty standard , depps performance was pretty impressive considering the transformation , that holds most of the film together .
