It was speculation about two months ago, or whenever the video for the hills dropped. The label announced the album date, he took to twitter saying it wasn't dropping on that specific date, that people should only believe what they read from his twitter handle, and that he worked slower when being rushed.

Some of yall need to get a grip, seriously.

Tell Your Friends video is A1.

Lol bro, straight delusional stuff I'm reading... **** is crazy

Not sure what to think of this album. Haven't been able to find a legit DL link yet but...

Last time I was in this thread, everyone was totes against it.

Now I'm reading everyone slurping the album...what changed?

wait so the ICFMF video is first, then Tell Your Friends, and then the Hills

the Devil discovers him and makes him "hot" in ICFMF

he dies and is "reborn", being buried at the beginning of TYF

however he is the weeknd, and the old him is the new him too

so he shoots the devil and drives off until he crashes in The Hills

walks into the house and sees the devil been waiting on him like no escape

Same thing I'm thinking waiting for it to hit iTunes for my first listen will judge it off there

:nerd:

Or he crashes the car (The Hills) Meets the devil. Makes the deal and the devil makes him hot in ICFMF then tell your friends he decides he doesn't want that life and kills the devil and is back on his grime???

Idk i like your story better  i just don't want it to be true

When I first saw the Tell your friends vid my train of thought was going with him gaining his presence with ICFMF, fifty shades, and his OLD self is burying his NEW self. Which is why he ended up shooting the "devil". But what you guys are saying makes sense too. Idk

The chronological progression of the videos seem to tell the story of him making the decision to leave his old sound/fans/self behind in favor of going into the deal with the devil/playing the industry game (hills). The devil shows him the amount of fame he can gain by playing the industry game (CFMF). And here it seems like the devil is angry with homie because weekend pulled a fast one on him. Weeknd deaded the whole facade he put on to get the attention of the industry, and now that he's gotten what he's wanted, he's taking everyone to that dark place from once he came.

Not necessarily. If you peep, he's driving an old Lincoln (I think) in the Hills with two ******* from the trilogy era. That could serve to represent the old days when he didn't have much. Now, he's driving off in a Bentley. That could be seen as one of the many perks he's gotten after making the deal with the devil and blowing up. He got the money, the new whip, the fame, and now he's back to doing things his way.

Keep hope alive, b.

Once the crazy expectations left, and took it for what is is, minds changed.

Nah i still don't rock with the album, and i doubt my stance will change

Album is really sub par

If i didnt read his letter regarding Rolling Stone and the meaning behind it, I'd think yall were insane.

Really trying to like it and I'm sure it will get better the more I listen. Kind of hard to top his writing on Kiss Land but so far I am enjoying Real Life, Acquainted (if he had somehow bridged this with GBIT90s :x), Shameless, Prisoner and maybe Angel
