Post Your Unpopular Music Opinions

I wouldn't say this is unpopular, I just haven't heard many people mention it or bring it up.
I think that Distant Relatives would've been 100x better without Nas.

im actually banging wit this dude Riff Rafs music.

I'll take charisma over any other rapper attribute (Thinking in Madden terms, for rankings)
Hence, why I bump Waka, Lil B, and Riff Raff soooo heavy
Good production + bars with energy = all I need

All I listen to is Riff lately
Songs like Deion Sandals, Larry Bird, Rice Out, Porsche Cayanne, and You Never Know- I ask, how can you not enjoy this? Highly entertaining

I don't think anybody else in Hip Hop really comes close to Wu Tang...they cover everything the best..

these new dudes from ASAP, to Kendrick, J.Cole, to OFWKGTA, all fail to stick out as lyricists to me...I don't feel like they represent themselves..

.IDK...that connection is hard to establish....(with yourself) the reason Lil B is successful because he touches on the real subjects even though he makes a lot of bull ****

I'm a Kanye fan, and I agree his bars are just so so most times(plus he re-uses a LOT of lines) but he still makes undeniable music. Be back later with more...

Odd Future's music is horrible, I'll never understand why and where anybody would listen to it.
Dom Kennedy is a D-grade rapper
Wayne nor Drake are in my current top 10
Wale's bars > 90% of rappers in the game
Ludacris is only great because of his features.
J. Cole has the potential to be the best of our generation...if he really wants to
Trouble (Rapper from Atlanta on DuctTape) would be the next major rapper out the A if he'd stopped f'in w/Alley Boy

I disagree. Turning his back on his 'family' would be a terrible move. But he needs to find a way to get a push. He could be the best thing to happen to Hip Hop in a long time

I probably should've worded that better. Put it this way, it's like when a dude from the hood goes away to college. He aint turning his back on his family, because that'll always be his family, he's just creating some distance so he doesn't get caught up in the b.s., can have opportunities, and eventually help his 'family' come up too.

If that makes sense.

production wise, Section 80 is hugely overrated. Thank God Kendrick has taken a step in the right direction with the beats on his recent stuff like The Recipe, Swimming Pools and Westside Right On Time

Soooo...I'm JUST discovering this thread...truly is a shame. There's a LOT of comments that people made that I would love to discuss, but I dont want to jump into a discussion thats a year old, so I'll just say a few things.

I have had a LOT of negative things to say about Odd Future since the first time i heard them...Truthfully, I think they're much more whack than they are not, and I especially hate gimmicky rappers, which I consider them to be...HOWEVER, Earl Sweats is actually aight. I haven't heard much of him so I might just be using too small of a sample size, but the little that I've heard hasn't been half bad.

Drunk and Hot girls is terrible. In fact, "Graduation" is by far Kanye's WORST album, NOT including 808's as I do not consider that to be a hip hop album.

Wale has taken a step back, lyrically, since joining MMG...his bars are more slurred and he seems to have "dumbed down" his raps in favor of club hits. To each their own, i'm sure wale is making more money on MMG than he ever did on Sony, so I can't be mad at him, but "Attention Deficit">>>"Ambition"

I've never heard of ANY of those rappers you guys are mentioning from the south...sorry.

"Watch The Throne" is, in fact, trash...Easily the worst album of either of their careers

"American Gangster" is the last solid Jay-Z album...it's been a steep decline since then...but then he turns around and drops verses like the verse he has on "3 Kings" and it makes me wonder, why the EFF don't you rap like that all the time??!??!?!

I'm gonna try to remember to stop in this thread normally...good opinions and good discussions

Attention Deficit definitely > Ambition. I still enjoyed Ambition though.

Watch the Throne is worse than BP2 and Kingdom Come? I think not.

That verse wasnt that great Dre & Ross just lyrically weren't ready to get on a track with him and prolly never will. There's a couple verses on WTT better than that
